“Casienne”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

Took my wife to dinner on her 80th birthday. We were made very welcome, and the staff could not have done more to help, making a special effort to accommodate her dietary intolerances.
Food was excellent, well cooked and presented. Wine price was reasonable, and we were offered a half bottle without asking - that's a novelty in France.
Not cheap - 87€ including aperitifs and wine - but reasonable for pleasant dinner in nice surroundings and good service.

“all round excellence”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

ate quite a few l meals here over a three week period both in the informal brasserie in the conservatory at the front or the slightly smarter restaurant inside - excellence in every department, the cooking the menus the service - the wine list - whether it was the reasonably priced plat du jour out front or the serious stuff in their restaurant. In fact we liked it so much we didn't bother to try anywhere else in the town!

“Great food!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

Les Glycines was very much a last-minute decision for lunch on the Assumption day holiday (15 August) so the place was packed and we scored the last table. The staff were very welcoming though run off their feet on the day. We took the 26 euro menu and we couldn't fault it. Good-sized portions, everything was cooked beautifully - a lot of fresh local produce was used which is always good to see. The wine list was well thought out and reasonably priced. The restaurant is quite low key in terms of ambience and would probably be quite pretty all lit up at night. Les Glycines was a pleasant surprise and as we very much look forward to returning for dinner one night soon. Thanks for a nice lunch!

“Really good food with excellent, well priced wines.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

We have been several times to Les Glycines and have always enjoyed it a lot. A montha go we went for lunch and had the 3 course menu for 26 Euros. The foie gras was perfect , The duck breast with the Chrevre Chaud was home made and so lovely, and the lamb Confit so succulent and tender that I can't tell you. I have been trying to find out how to make it. The Aubergine that came with it was simply divine. Their deserts are, unusually, their strong point. One of the chefs has won pirizes for his deserts. How ever I would have prefered a more classic Vacherin. It was a bit insipid , that is not up to their usual high standard.
Normally , in this region , the deserts are simple to the point of being an irrelevant after thought. Usually bought in the supermarket.
There are many wines by the glass as well as by the bottle and we have had several that are excellant. It is a good place.

“Good Food and Helpful Friendly Service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

Chose to eat from the €28 Gourmand Menu, which included entree, main, cheese (where they had a good selection of chesses), and dessert. The dishes were well cooked and presented, and included some typical french dishes such as snails (which were excellent). A combination of ouur school French and the staffs school English we were able to order and ask questions about the menu with no problems. They also offer a child's menu (€11) if you have young children. Our under 5 particularly enjoyed the ice-cream.

Main courses included Lamb, Pork or Fish, our party ordered all three and the plates were cleaned in all cases. We were offered desserts of Creme Brulee, Chocolate Gateaux, and one other (the latter not being remembered as we didn't orderr it); again clean plates.

A good wine list - with "house wines" available. We opted for a Bergerac and Sauvignon Blanc at €17.50 and €16 respectively. They also vintage wines if you want to push the boat out.

If I was in the area again I would certainly consider using this restaurant again.
