We booked for 5 nights and checked out after the first night in the morning. We had no sleep as the bugs in the room kept us up all night. In the morning light we saw the true dirtyness of the $285 room. We asked for service and got nothing. Steve and Mrs the proprietors of this shocking establishment are rude dirty and miserable things that have no respect at all for guests. We called him when we found the bugs in the room and he told us to look for the fly spray!!! Come on mate, get real! Where's the service? He took the money like a real dog and we went to moona links 5stars would never go back to that *#@* whole.

Stayed in a standard family room. Location is great but for what we paid for compared to other recent stays made our stay disappointing. Even my 7 year noted the difference. No human contact at all except for the knock at 9.15 am for the cleaner to change our towels!
Towels are small and thin. We were one bath towel short and when I buzzed the owner to request another, she was not very friendly and cold. In addition to the undersized barh towels, for 4 of us we had one tiny face washer !! Yeeeek

Although the cleaner was friendly and hospitable, unfortunately the owners are stingy.
No one in the cafe. Pool wasn't very clean and not full of water. Very appalling given it is over a weekend over peak season.
The place was depressing and lacked atmosphere. We left to stay in a nice place in sorrento.

We enjoyed our stay at the Boathouse Motel. The room was very clean and spacious. We didn't see any staff on our stay. You collect your keys from outside the office. We enjoyed having a look around Blairgowrie and had a fabulous meal at the Cafe Legend restaurant. The location was beautiful with plenty of things to see and do.
Our only concern was the noise of the heater - it made it impossible to watch tv with it on. The room quickly heated up though.

We were only staying one night and as we were in Blairgowrie to eat at the fabulous Cafe Legend, which is right next door,we decided to ignore the multitude of bad reviews and stay at the Boathouse. We actually found it quite ok.It was clean and the Tv was fine, shower wonderful. It was in need of a little TLC but you don't pay top dollar so we didn't expect the Ritz.I admit I wouldn't want to sleep in the bed for a week, but for a night or two it was fine. And as for people complaining about nobody checking you in,we loved it, lob in,grab a key and away you go.I can't work out the problem. If you do stay her you absolutely must eat at Cafe Legend.

We purchased a two night spa room package through "wot if" and would say that this stay was reasonably good value.(considering what you can pay in the area) Just across the road from the beach, lovely for a sunset walk. I love the strip of small cafe's and shops an easy walk away. Rye hotel does a good meal and is not far from the motel (five minute drive). We have stayed here twice before, at least three years ago (if not longer, can't remember) at the time there was staff in reception, so I was suprised to not see anybody there during our two night stay. The key was left for us in an envelope. I agree with the last reviewer on the state of the towels, in fact, found it odd that for a two night stay we only had two towels which we had to dry by hanging them near the heater across a couple of chairs. we also had an issue with the TV, with the antena connection being faulty. The room is spacious, the layout good, however it is in need of new chairs and couch. Without spending a whole lot of money improvements could be made.

We stayed one night in a spa suite. Fortunately we found the room to be much nicer than expected - it was clean, & did not smell.

I'm not sure that it deserves a 4 star rating though! For example, the towels were awfully old & thin. I have stayed at other self rated 4 star places that were better quality.

As noted by other posters, you don't see the staff at check in/ check out although that didn't worry us. Also, it appears they have updated the analogue tv - we had a small digital one in our room.

I thought the location was great, Blairgowrie is a very central location to Sorrento, the hot springs & a number of the Red Hill wineries. The beach is also just across the road although we didn't get there since it rained all weekend!

My family of 2 adults & 2 kids stayed here in late Dec 2011 for 3 nights. Our first impression of the motel was impressively cute but upon opening the door of our family room - strong mouldy smell greeted us. We found the damp blanket left in the cupboard. In the evening my son cried to go home because the analogue TV had no reception, we were unable to connect out Xbox that we packed along. Front & back doors had no fly-wired screen to let fresh air in; the whole room had terrible mouldy smell and bed linens & pillowcases smelled of excessive cleaning products. The next day we bought a $60 digital TV from nearby Dick Smith to entertain the kids for the next nights. We complained to a female cleaner who turned out to be the business owner. She ended up whinging to us that her (leased) business is sending her and husband into depression and struggled to keep the business going. She didn’t seem to want to understand why we (customers) complained when she had tried her best.
In conclusion, great location but definitely not going back there unless operating under new management!
