“Great value for money - lovely service!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013 via mobile

We called Norwood House on the day we wanted to stay, they had one room left for $120. The manager explained that it was 'a basic room that would get the job done'. We had low expectations, but it was great! Clean, compact. Very comfy king size bed with LOTS of pillows. Kettle, iron & board, toaster, tea & coffee. TV with DVD player.
The pool area was clean, with a BBQ. We liked it so much, we booked another night. Great location, close to the beach!

We asked for a double with spa and got upgraded to a suite. I walked in and the room hadn't been cleaned (had been overlooked from the night before). The owner was very apologetic and offered us a drink while we waited while he cleaned it. Couln't get the tv working in the sitting area. Shower was part of the spa and i had to stand in my husbands water from his showere while i took a shower as the water was going down VERY slow. We went out and came back at night time. Bugs everywhere in room, on ceiling, spiders in bathroom. Frezzer in fridge was dirty so we couldnt use it. Definetly not worth the money we paid. Wouldn't reccomnend at all. I coudnt be bothered mentioning to owner. was happy to get out of there in the morning.

We had a party at Norwood house on the 2nd June 2012 and firstly the service and food was awesome, the room we had was very comfortable, unlike many places the room had furniture in it and yes that makes the room smaller but at least we could sit on a lounge not just on a bed. We slept very well and all the new fixtures in the bathroom were great.
If I was to have a party somewhere I would be very happy to go back and happy to recommend this venue.

Room Tip: Ask for the renovated rooms and I was told all rooms will be completed shortly

We stayed here as we were keen to have a corner spa. The reception centre looked really nice, but as soon as we went in to our room, it had a cheesy red plush round bed that sunk badly in the middle and a spa that didn't work properly. There were cobwebs through out the room, and the room was dingy. We did not sleep well and ended up with sore backs from the sagging in the middle of the bed. The sheets, toilet and carpet were clean but the place was just screaming for a renovation. If you do decide to stay here ensure you book the renovated room, I didn't know that they had some that were not renovated and was expecting to find a room similar to the photos online.

Room Tip: get the renovated rooms

Paid $120 for a tiny motel room which was shabby, tired, crowded with furniture, and a bathroom so small it was difficult to pass the basin to get to the toilet. No wardrobe provided, so hung our clothes on shower rail alongside plastic shower curtain. Drapes did not cover the windows so outside lighting shone brightly into the room until very late. There may be newer units here but this was not one of them. Sad and disappointing.

Room Tip: Please inspect room before paying $120. We assumed the unit had been renovated but it was old and...

A while ago we attended a friends wedding, being a Chef myself and working in some of Victoria's hottest hotels and restaurants I have to say as far as receptions and weddings go this is by far the best we have been too. Value for money.

Service was second to none, waiting staff were very attentive and the food was out of this world.
