“Lovely night away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

We really enjoyed our stay at this Hotel! The staff were all very helpful, polite and friendly. We had a renovated, sea view room and we were very happy with it! The Sunday carvery looked very tempting as we sat in the bar with a glass of wine and we succumbed although we had planned to just have a snack. The carvery was very tasty and good value and the meal that we had in the evening, yep, I know we were piggies, was delicious. Beer battered haddock with hand cut chips. Lovely! I would definitely recomend this hotel and we will visit again in the summer. The bed was the comfiest I have ever slept in, I didn't want to leave it!

We almost always stay here on trips to visit my daughter. This visit was last minute due to the arrival of our new grandson. We rang the hotel direct and was quoted £95. At the very same time I was on their website and saw a £50 pn offer. The hotel agreed to honour the web page offer and what a bargain! Room was lovely, breakfast superb and the food and beverages in the bar excellent. The only slight issue is car parking, a space is rare so if you get it, keep it! Staff helpful and friendly and we will be back

Stayed recently for one night during a very brief visit to Great Yarmouth. The hotel is perfectly situated overlooking the sea and beside a long promenade - far nicer to be down at this end I would have thought than the centre of the town. And very easy to get to in the car - just minutes from the A12 motorway exit. The hotel is currently undergoing an extensive refurb that is nearing completion - the bedrooms are all completely redone and very modern and comfortable - the common parts are soon to follow. I'm sure the whole will look fantastic once the project is complete. We ate in the hotel both for dinner and for breakfast the following morning and both meals were really, really nice. A great menu with lots of healthy and freshly prepared options. Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room and a sea view (at extra cost).

We stayed here mid-December 2012, that was a good experience (even though there was ongoing work upstairs refurbishing some of the bedrooms) and we stayed for one night this March. We got a good deal by booking in advance through bookings.com and had an excellent room (it was being refurbished during our previous stay) overlooking the harbour and beach.

We had lunch in the (large and up to date) bar, entertained two other friends in the dining room that evening and had (cooked to order and included in the price) breakfast next morning. In each case the food and the presentation thereof was first class.

Service was good and friendly and the room was well equipped, had just been refurbished, was very comfortable and everything worked.

We go to Norfolk quite often and we will definitely stay there again.

If you need somewhere to go on a wet afternoon, try the bar with a good meal, or just a drink, and watch the comings and goings at the harbour mouth. There is also a large outside dining area, accessible through the bar, for outside summer dining - again with good views of harbour mouth and beach.

Room Tip: Sea facing rooms have good views although, of course, they are more expensive.

Room 107 so hot they had the window open before I got there and I had to leave it open all night, it was freezing out side this made little difference. Shower was broken. Hair dryer was broken. Carpet in the hall was rolled up in places. Downstairs looks great.
Sorry Cliff hotel. Over the last 20 years I have used this hotel for business not stayed for a while very disappointing .

We have just returned from a weekend away at this very plesant hotel. Having got a good groupon deal, we were not expecting too much but were plesantly surprised....what a nice hotel. The hotel appears to be havin a makeover with the rooms looking very good, im sure the corridors will look just as good when they too are decorated. In our deal we got afternoon tea and breakfast, bith were tasty! We would return.

My husband and I spent the weekend in The Cliff Hotel and found the rooms truly lovely. Modern, clean and with the sort of attention to detail you would certainly find in London's finest hotels.
The breakfast, lunch and dinners we enjoyed were delicous accompanied by pleasant staff who took pride in their positions.
We found our stay excellent and would certainly recommend The Cliff Hotel to our friends and family.

Room Tip: no lift so if you have heavy luggage or trouble with stairs you should request a room near to recept...
