“Exquisite little dip into past times”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2014

Stumbled across this tea room on a day trip to Castle Cary. The cream tea was delicious with generous portions, the cakes were lovely and the actual venue is sublime. We were served by an lovely 'in character' waitress to the accompaniment of 1930's music and our tea came in beautiful matching china.
This place is a perfect tiny little hidden gem and I can't recommend it enough.

“Best tea shop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2014

As previous reviews, this tea shop is a step back in time. My wife and I recently visited and she had 'the best sandwich she has ever had'. I had a lovely toasted sandwich with ham and cheese, all served by a waitress dressed in 1930s clothes. I was amused to discover that the background music, while not being on a 78 record, was 'on a loop from a MP3 player', which kind of spoilt the effect. Anyway the place is full of different kinds of tea to buy, lots of old crockery, and teasingly lovely looking bits of cake you just have to take home for later. If you visit Castle Cary you have to come here, and also the 'old' hardware shop 2 doors away!.

“Perfect.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

We came across this little place with no prior knowledge, what a stroke of luck. It's tiny inside, but the welcome atmosphere and quaintly dressed walls were all part of an experience we were glad to have. The food was fresh, homemade and delicious. The list of types of tea, coffee and hot chocolate was an education. Overall a gem of a find which we are looking forward to re visiting.

“What A Little Find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2014

Visited Castle Cary last week, as my partner was doing a spot of family tree history and came across Mothers Little Vintage Tea Room, what a little find. As previous reviewer's have said it certainly takes you back in time. Could not take my eyes off all the memorabilia and lovely music playing in the background. I choose a toasted cheese sandwich and my partner had ham off the bone sandwich, they were good and a nice pot of strong tea hit the spot for our light lunch. We will be returning and staying in Castle Cary to explore more of the area in September and will be popping in again to the tea room.

“Like Stepping Into A Time Warp”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2014

What a magic experience!! Anyone going close to Castle Cary must stop off to pay this quaint little tea room an unforgettable visit!! It felt like we had been taken back in time - decor, ornaments, newspapers and magazines, and even the waitress's uniform. Excellent menu whether you wanted a meal or just a cream tea. You will not be disappointed!!
