not so easy to find hotel in Tokyo specially if you travelling in budget conditions. Khaosan Tokyo Original actually was not my first choice but since Khaosan Kabuki full so I had choosen this hostel rather than other Khaosan hostel ( I think they have more than 4 hostel ) This hotel near the Asakusa station ( Toei Line ) and only walking distance to Asakusa Temple and the nice nakamise shopping street. Some restaurant also available near this hostel. The Hostel not too big but they provided you with kitchen and free tea and coffee ( I like the Japanese tea and they wrote how to make it ) a common room with computer and free internet. The staff also very helpfull, they gave me a gift because of Feb was my birthday. They also gave us voucher to try Japanese drink ( sake ) in the Bar not far from the Hostel. Generally this Hostel is Clean, comfort and nice. They also provide many tourist destination in this hostel. If you want to explore Tokyo buy Toei Pass that cost you about 700 yen and you can ride train unlimited for 1 day in toei line in Tokyo ( Tsukiji market, Ginza, Shinjuku, Asakusa, etc )

Room Tip: stay in upstair ( 2nd Floor )

It's surprising that with its price, Khaosan Tokyo Original has so many things to offer: easy and cheap access from Haneda airport (Asakusa Toei line) and access to subway station; nice, energetic and helpful staffs; quite clean with good common facilities; and nice river view from my dorm room (to Sumida river). The neihgbourhood is kind of quiet while also near to many cultural, dining, and shopping alternatives at the same time. The soon-to-be-opened Tokyo Sky Tree tower is also within walking distance. The sad thing is I couldn't extend my stay as it's fully booked, but they will refer you to other nearby branches as well.

We stayed here for 4 nights in a 2 person private room. Compared to other hostels and accommodation in Tokyo, this is one of the cheapest yet close to the subway and train stations. Asakusa is a beautiful place and convenient location to other interesting cities like Ueno, Tsukiji, Ryogoku and Akihabara.

For what you're paying, of course there are some drawbacks. Rooms are very small as ours are just a bunk bed with barely much more room to move. Mattresses are thin and shower rooms are downstairs. Be prepared to carry your luggages to the top floor too.

However, I cannot give it a negative review because you get what you pay for. The friendly and knowledgeable staffs were excellent, lounge and kitchen was cosy... very nice place to meet fellow travellers, free wifi throughout.

This is my second trip to Japan and my second stay in a Khaosan hostel. So, I knew what to expect and definitely would stay here again when I return!

Room Tip: Request for a room with a window so it feels less claustrophobic and it helps in giving the room a f...

What you pay is what you get. Love the bed. Staff are helpful. Every corner of the hostel are clean. Almost excellent except for the common room which is always crowded and the fact that my bed is situated right under the heater.

The main point is that this place is too small so there is not enough space for staying with a minimum of comfort. You can't even open your baggage because there isn't enough space between bed and wall!!! The common spaces aren't big enough so you spend most of the time saying "sorry" and "excuse me" because you can't even walk through the corridor if someone else is coming. It isn't possible to open the door of your room and the door of the room in front of yours because the corridor is so tiny. Facilities are old. Beds are small but comfortable.
I have stayed in other backpackers places in Japan so I think my opinion is quite objective.
Location is good but I think you should easily find better value for price in Tokyo, for example in a business hotel.
