“Museum”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

Tip: Starbucks with comfy seats and good views (big).
We walked along the park to go to the museum. It's a nice walk. The park is a pleasant place but a little busy.

“Absolutely Beautiful. And Crammed With Things To Do!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

I went to the park on my second day in Tokyo as it was extremely near where I was staying. I primarily went to go to the Zoo (and see the panda), but this park is an attraction in its own right. Its absolute enormous with a good 10+ routes of walk to choose from. Go at the right time of year and the cherry blossoms are in full bloom and its absolutely breathtaking. There's a few small typically Japanese style pagodas dotted around the centre of the park to look at as well as a bit of peace and quiet which can be hard to find in Tokyo. The park is literally on the doorstep of the exit of Ueno station so it is very easy to find. There's not particularly anywhere you can eat in the park but there is in the surrounding areas. If you are going to the zoo add extra time to have a look around this park, you wont regret it!

Arive there in the subway and then walk around or rent a bike and see the area museums and the zoo, an ancient pagoda, and a life-size sculpture of a whale.

“Cherry Blossom, Picnic, Zoo...all in one”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 26, 2013

It's the perfect spot for cherry blossoms. We went there on March 27th and was absolutely amazing. One of the highlights of our trip. There were lots of people, mainly Japanese, the weather was superb, a warm breeze made the petals of blossoms fly over you....breathtaking!

This park is also perfect if you want to have a picnic. It's set with plastic mats under the trees and rubbish bins strategically placed.

You can also visit a Japanese temple and even the zoo. What else you want to escape from the noisy city? It's simply p e r f e c t!!!!
