“Great stay, excellent service with a killer view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2012

Great but aging hotel. Rooms looking a little tired, beds were great, view amazing and excellent location close to the tourist spots and not shortage of really good restaurants very close by. Breakfast was excellent with a huge choice and service was brilliant. We also had supper on the first night and yes huge buffet, quality of food great only point was the usual pricey hotel dinner. The porter spoke great English and went the extra mile even got my brothers cellphone to work from Japanese to English. The key for us was the service, felt at home friendly and help full, not what i expected in a large city like Tokyo. Revamp the rooms and its a 5 rating.

Room Tip: Get a room on the top levels facing the Tokyo Sky tree

Beds were not too comfortable. But other than that good hotel for a tourist that plans to be out exploring all day. Come home at night dead tired that you won't really mind the bed! Lol

This hotel was in a nice part of Tokyo and the view from our room was amazing - we saw the sun come up over Tokyo! The hotel was a little dated and our room smelled like it had once been a smoking room (just a faint whiff!) but it was spacious and comfortable. It was a good location, near lots of shops and restaurants. It was our final night in Japan so we didn't stay long but would have liked to go over to the sky tower and visit the temple in front of the hotel.

Great location 5 minutes from the center of Asakusa including Senso Ji (temple), Kappabashi (Kitchen Town) and the river. Book a room on the 20th floor or higher for great views out to the Tokyo Sky Tree and other Asakusa landmarks. This hotel is a bit of a throw back to an earlier age but none the worse for that. They charge an exorbitant amount for breakfast so we skipped it and headed across the road to a chain diner. All sorts of restaurants and food are available a short walk from the hotel. Comfy nights sleep on the bed but for some reason the room was quite hot and the air con only worked as a heater in early April. Probably by the beginning of May it'll be full steam ahead cool air con.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the 20th floor or above - we were on the 22nd. Make sure you ask for the Sky Tree v...

Offering a good view of Asakusa and beyond, this hotel offers a solid stay in a nice part of Tokyo. A block away from the subway. The room is good in size, according to Japanese standards and has a decent desk with a fast internet connection.

I skipped the breakfast, so I don't have an opinion about that.

Typical Japanese service: very good.

I stayed here over a weekend and a Monday. The area is fantastic to walk around and to experience a part of Tokyo that hasn't changed much in decades. Free of high end shops and full of wholesale restaurant suppliers, it is a down to earth look at a charmed area of Tokyo where locals flock to experience old world Japan.

Room Tip: Request a view of the temple as a newly constructed apartment building on the other side provides li...

The rooms are getting a little tired. That stripey 1970s theme is starting to look old, not retro,

Decent sized rooms for where it is. But the lighting in them isn't good, the beds aren't too comfy and the provided amenities (toiletries, tea making) are pretty spartan.

Somewhat jetlagged on the first night of our trip a few more comforts would have been much appreciated,

Room Tip: Get an Asakusa view room on a high floor for great views of the Sky Tree
