“I Love toyoko inn”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

Location is just in the heart of shinjuku and very good price. In Japan you need a good bed, a clean room and a confortable bathroom. Rooms are small but very clean. If you travel around Japan and Korea, it's worth to make a membership card to get discounts, etc. If you don't want that your towels and linen are changed, they give you a good discount

Good hotel in a convenient location, just a short walk from the bustle of Shinjuku and the train station etc. Our room was at the front of the hotel on the second floor but still remained peaceful. Staff friendly, hotel very clean at all times. I left my iphone in my room on the side table by mistake for an entire day and when I came back it was still there just as I left it.

Breakfast good, free water, free Wifi, decent air conditioning system in the room and lots of nice little extras like toiletries, robes etc all made our stay comfortable :)
Only thing I'd recommend is to bring your own towels, as they were the tiniest towels we've ever seen!

First time in Japan. The hotel is neat, but it is a little aged down. Still its awesome.
Love the rice-ball breakfast, and its free.
Wifi is free. The staffs are very friendly and some can speak English very well.
Don’t forget to ask for the map of the area, you will need it.

If you can read Japanese, this hotel is for you!
YES!! TOKOYO!!

Room Tip: Just request for non-smoking!

I didn't have any problem, very good in general. Breakfast good too. They keep your luggage after check out if you need it. They provide free toiletries and pyjamas and a cosmetic present for ladies. I totally recommend this hotel.

Checked into this hotel on 4 Oct 2012.
Like all the other Toyoko-Inn, the place is clean, effecient and convenient.
Service is good, the staff is polite n helpful.
Breakfast is decent n simple.
In this hotel, the bonus is that at the front counter, one young man spoke almost perfect American English.
Outside the entrance is a smoking corner, complete with proper ash tray n ionizer...excellent!

Room Tip: Book well ahead. If u are a regular traveller, it pays to join as a member of their hotel club. The...

A clean, well-kept and rather inexpensive (get yourself a Toyoko Inn Club Card) hotel which has only one drawback: you have to walk about fifteen minutes from there to get to the railway and metro stations in Shinjuku. As many people have pointed out here, the staff is not exactly well-versed in English — but it is normal for Japan, just keep up with this and enjoy your stay. The internet access is free, although there is no wi-fi coverage in the rooms, only network cable sockets, so you may consider bringing your own Ethernet cable/adapter. Coin-operated washing machines are in the back room near the lobby.

The notorious Kabukicho neighbourhood, which is often called a "red light district", isn't as dangerous as one can imagine. In fact, we have stayed at this hotel many times and never experienced any troubles with the local public — although the place gets somewhat noisy on Friday nights, it seems to be as safe as any other areas in Tokyo after all.

I noticed that some people have complained about the size of the room. First off it's Tokyo. Second, for the price your paying it's pretty decent.
The breakfast selection is much smaller than at other Toyoko Inn's I've been to, but that's ok because it's free. :) The hotel is probably located closer to Shin-Ōkubo Station rather than Shinjuku. The location of this hotel is awesome!! There's a lot to see and do. If you're out late at night or early in the morning you'll catch a glimpse of host boys and girls walking the street. I enjoyed the many Korean restaurants and shops. If you're a lady, you'll love all the CHEAP cosmetics shops around. I honestly brought back 5lbs of Korean face masks home with me.
I'm a big fan of Toyoko Inn and have stayed at 3 different locations. It makes sense to get a membership if you'll be in Japan a while or travel to Japan often.

Don't expect the free breakfast to be similar to that of a western style breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon toast etc. You're in Japan, expect Japanese food.
