“Good to go with kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014 via mobile

Visited here during February of 2014. If you are travelling with kids then its a must place to visit. Kids can play on firetrucks and simulated rescue helicopters. They even have a real helicopter on the roof where kids can get in and play. They also have a play area for kids with toys, colouring and craft kits. There are little fireman costumes to try on too. Forgot to add the entry is totally free :)

“Totally unexpected”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2014

As a paramedic in Canada this was a totally unexpected and detailed museum (with something like 6-7 floors?! It was free, and the staff were very helpful. Even if you're not interested in firefighters this was a very interesting history lesson. Honestly, it's better than most main museums in Canada...

“Highly recommend for families with children!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2013

This place was great! It's right above the train station exit. We easily spent an hour and a half here. The highlight was definitely the decommissioned helicopter on the roof. Our children did NOT want to leave! They had a great time dressing up and learning about the history of firefighting in Japan. Best of all it was free!

If you are traveling with picky kids, there is a coffee shop on the corner across from the museum. I apologize for not remembering the name, they had cream cheese and jelly sandwiches for sale in their deli case. That saved our afternoon! The adults were able to grab delicious Indian food down the street without worrying about whining children:)
