“Great Garden”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

I went here in January, and even though it was winter, the Shinjuku Gyoen was still very nice. Its only ¥200 to get in, which is great. The Gyoen was very quiet, well maintained, and very clean. Like I said earlier, it's nice in the winter, but I just wish I could of seen it in the fall.

“Very nice summer break from the city”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2014

Beautiful place in the summer. Lots of people just out for a picnic or some family time. Excellent place to bring the kids for a break to run around. Snack hut in the middle a little expensive, but still a nice stop. If you walk around the whole thing, it's a ways. Took around 3 hours at a leisurely pace with two 6 year olds

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

yes you have to pay to get in but it's only 200 yen, AND that include the entry to a brand new beautiful tropical botanic garden. Lovely when you're too cold to walk ages in the garden as it's hot and moist in there!

“Nice garden, just don't go during winter time”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

Went there during winter. The garden was well kept but since it was winter time everything was quite barren.Bought myself a bento set from Isetan food departement and had a picnic on a grassy hilly area. I can definitely imagine it being more beautiful in summer or autumn. Otherwise, felt a bit regret paying 200 yen. Just skip this garden if going on winter and head to other "free" garden

“Time out in Tokyo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

The garden is the perfect place to start your day with an early morning stroll. There is an entry fee of approx .¥200. It is worth going to see the traditional Japanese garden but If you only have time for one garden/park, I believe Yoyogi Park in Shibuya is nicer.
