“Good location and lovely hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

This is my 3rd time at Keio Plaza Shinjuku. It is in a good location, accessible to many shops and restaurants. It is within walking distance ,about 10mins walk to both Shinjuku JR and Keio Stations. If you take the Narita Express (N'EX) then it will be the JR station. There is also airport limousine bus that will take you directly to the front of the hotel, good for those with many bags.

I took the N'EX arrive at about 11.30am. I requested for early check-in and was given a room at no extra charge. I had to move to Keio Plaza Hahioji, and the hotel did my luggage transfer for no charge.

The room is decent size and only wired LAN is provided. It was quiet and I always have good sleep there.

Spacious, clean, comfortable, internet access available upon request, close to Shinjuku station and most things that you want from a hotel.

Their service was excellent and staff were very helpful to your needs. Best were comfortable. Because the hotel was so close to the station, it made it very easy for us to get around Tokyo. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to stay in Tokyo as Shinjuku is the centre to getting around in Tokyo.

Room Tip: Get at least 30sqm to have comfort in your holiday.

This hotel is total in terms of offerings, the rooms are nice, clean and well laid out! The American Breakfast restaurant Jurin is a great place and the spread has good varitey and taste. There are other Italian, Chinese and Japanese restaurant too! This hotel also has a grocery store for small purchases and this is very convenient. The staff is courteous.

The hotel is a busy city hotel in Shinjuku and is two blocks from probably the busiest train station you'll ever see. There are 2 towers, the South and the Main tower, the former being the older rooms and basic and definitely in need of a refurb from our experience.

The location for the hotel and the station are great but I have to say he lack of Internet access is really poor considering the amount of technology on the doorstep of the hotel. There's no wifi in the lobby and only LAN cables in the rooms.

The rooms need more info about the area, maybe tokyo maps / guides etc as these are not easy to find around tokyo though there is a tourist info in the Metropolitan Government building behind the hotel (the observe ration deck on the top of its towers give an amazing view of Tokyo and the sun setting over Mount Fuji )

Given the cost in comparison to other hotels around Asia I would expect a lot more facilities

Room Tip: Go for the main tower, if booking direct join the loyalty programme for late checkout and a couple o...

Keio Plaza is located a short walk (5 minutes) from Shinjuku station from where you can go to almost all places in Tokyo and Japan. The airport shuttle-bus from Narita stops at this hotel.
There are both smoking and non-smoking rooms so if you are non-smoker remember to ask for a non-smoking room. The hotel is a high-rise building and the rooms higher up have great views of Tokyo - you can see Mount Fuji on a clear day. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with tea and coffee machine. Great bathrooms.
There are three breakfast restaurants, I would suggest that you eat at the western style restaurant as there are more options available there. It is not uncommon to line up for breakfast so be early if you wish to avoid waiting.

Room Tip: I stayed in room 3150 with great view over Tokyo. My friend stayed in 3167 that side faces the Mount...

We arrived at Shinjuku Station and were able to quickly find our way to the Keio Plaza Hotel - it is marked on the district maps displayed at exits to the subway. It's only about a 3-5 minute walk from the Western side exit. And it's MASSIVE, so you'll see it as you approach! There are plenty of staff, available whenever you need them. Just ask at the front desk and they will give you a handy Tokyo booklet with maps of the various neighbourhoods etc - much easier than lugging around a massive guidebook all day! The restaurants within the hotel seemed very expensive, but there is a myriad of dining choices around the Shinjuku area, so you won't want to eat in the hotel anyway! Beds and bedding were comfortable. Room temperature was good - not boiling hot in the middle of the night like some other hotels! Bathroom was clean and comfortable. Wifi was easy to access and reliable. We purchased snacks and drinks from vending machines and just chilled them in our room service fridge. Free Nespresso in your room is a nice touch! All in all, it's a convenient, comfortable and clean accommodation option!

Room Tip: There are two towers, one has apparently been renovated more recently than the other. We booked a &q...

Price: 9/10
I think the price is OK and not too pricey and a lot of Indonesians stay at this hotel.

Room: 10/10
When I got to my room, the room has an average size, not very big and not too small. For me personally, it has the right amount of space. The room is clean, the bathroom is tidy and offers great comforts.

Hotel Staffs: 8/10
The hotel staffs are quite friendly and helpful in general.

Location: (7/10)
This hotel is located in Shinjuku area of Tokyo and next to Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. It's actually in the middle of a busy part of the city. However, since most of the time we walk in Tokyo, in the end it feels quite far from the public transportation. Some times, I felt too tired to go out again at night after returning from one whole day of walking.

Views: (8/10)
The hotel has a pretty good views of building surrounding the area. It's very urban and modern.

Overall: (8.5/10)
Overall, the hotel is pretty good and recommended. The hotel itself is quite old but they maintain it very well so it doesn't feel too old. There are also many restaurants inside the hotel that you can try.
