“Good value and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2012

I was lucky to land a room with 2 double beds, 2 chairs and a desk on an upper floor. Small but functional bathroom was all we needed for myself and 2 teenagers. Family friendly rooms are not easy to find and this hotel worked well for us. The hotel is new and modern with free wifi in the lobby. The rate was good at less than $100AUD per night. There is a McDonald's across the street, vending machine on the floor, Coffee shop downstairs and Higashi Shinjuku metro station is next door. The hotel is a 10 minute easy walk to the main Shinjuku JR and metro station as well as Airport Limousine Bus stop.

Room Tip: Ask for a floor on a high level as the streets are busy and noisy

I had heard that these hotel rooms were small and oh, yes they were. But as this was not a surprise, this place actually worked out really well. The hotel is just two stops from Shinjuku Station, the busiest station in Tokyo (and possibly the world), so there is easy access to all lines of transportation. The price was just what I was looking for, very reasonable, as I stayed there for 10 days. Customer service was good, housekeeping was at my room practically before I hit the elevator on my way out, and there was free wi-fi in the lobby (but not in the room). I had a single room and it basically included a double bed w/ firm mattress (this bothered my friend who had another room), but I actually had some great sleep. There was also a TV, small desk w/ chair and refrigerator, but that's it. No closet, no drawers, and very little floor space. The bathroom was also super tiny tiny tiny, but as I'm only 5'3", again this was not really a problem. Shower temperature and water pressure could not have been more perfect after long days of sight seeing. The hotel is down the street from a hospital, which I had also heard about in advance, so it's wise to bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. Somehow this did not bother me too much. While this is definitely not a luxury hotel, it was clean and did the trick for my trip. I'd stay there again.

Room Tip: Higher rooms should be quieter, but many of the single rooms were on the fifth floor. Do not double...

Owner of Blue Compass Global Travel, Sacramento, California - This was a business trip. I stayed in this E Hotel Higashi Shinjuku March 26 - 28, 2012. I really did enjoy staying at this 3 star hotel, it was clean and only a couple of blocks from all the restuarants and nightlife in the area. As expected, It was a standard small Japanese hotel which I do not mind as long as the facilities are clean. The staff were exceptional and were always there if I ever I had questions or needed any assistance. There is no restuarant in the hotel. However, there is a Tully's coffee shop downstairs attached to the hotel. The best part is the subway entrance is literally right next to the hotel. When you take the subway to Shinjuku Station follow the exit to Gate A 1, the hotel is on the right. There is mega shopping and eating in Shinjuku, just keep walking it is not hard to find, it is especially nice at night with all the neon lights. I would highly recommend this hotel, the located is perfect and the price was right.

Room Tip: Most of the traditional Japnese restuarants that I went to only accepted cash (Yen) and not credit c...

The price is right and the location can't be beat. The bed was very comfortable in our room, but the bathroom was tiny and filthy. The shower curtain was moldy and had pubic hairs stuck to it.
Although the bed was nice the double room did not allow for any movement . The half foot space between the bed and bathroom barely allowed for the door to be opened. Still, I guess for 11,000 yen for 2 people it can't be beat a a place to crash. But since the area borders on tons of love hotels that have 3 times the space with TONS of amenities, why bother?

- Price was fairly lower than anything else in the area.
- Hotel is brand new and spotless
- Location is great (and near nightlife spots) right next to subway.

- Only downturn is rooms that, while cozy, are extremely small.

Overall a great clean & cozy alternative to explore Tokyo.

Was suppose to stay at Citadine Shinjuku but it was full for the period. I read many good reviews for this hotel here and in other media source so take the chance to book it. Maybe that set my expectations to high and turn out to be my refret.

The location is absolutely convenient as metro station is practically right next to the Hotel Entrance, Tully's at the ground floor with special meal for Hotel Guests are certainly a plus, however, other than these the overall stay in E-Hotel is not absolutely pleasent. I've expected very very small room for Tokyo downtown accomodation, but this one is really tiny while the design of the layout is not as smart as other tiny hotels i've stayed in Tokyo. Worse, while usually no matter how small the room will be JP hotels usually are clean and neatly maintained (maybe only I was super lucky in the past?). The hotel room ventilation is not very good, the room is not smelly very good while the toilet which is next to your bed are smelling bad even before anyone use it, the bath tube and the shower curtain is not clean and overall the room looks dingy? not sure if that's the right word for the case but overall it is not comfortable for me at all...

The reception area, however, is very bright, modern and clean. Staff are helpful and friendly as well. That makes me even feel more sad when left the public area and returned to the room...

I don't think will stay for the next time!

Room Tip: I'm not sure...i found other guests at the lobby area looks consent or maybe i guess it wrong? a...
