3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2011 via mobile

The Chinese staff, called Ryu 劉, was very impolite and not helpful at all!!! But the location of hotel is quite convenient.
Anyway, I will NOT choose to stay in this hotel anymore because of RYU, a terribly unhelpful and impolite staff!!!

3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2011

Having stayed at the former (and very good) Hotel Kent - I was expecting this new hotel in Kent's place much like I remembered but I was wrong. Whilst it is completely new (built in 2010) it hasn't retained much of Hotel Kent's charm. On arrival the staff seemed to know little or next to no English although when we arrived there were at least 7 staff behind the desk all scurrying about to find our online booking. Not a deal breaker but from the moment we arrived I didn't feel welcome and felt our lack of Japanese was a hindrance to them. There was also not alot of English written around the hotel so I felt it was really catering to the Japanese businessman or tourist. The room was clean, spacious and beds very comfortable and featured amenities such as bathrobe, slippers, hair dryer etc. They don't provide free bottled water in the room like most other hotels do however - this has to be purchased from the in-house vending machines.
Also the area around the hotel has really deteriorated. Having stayed there many, many times and well aware it's the red light district of Shinjuku, I saw a few unpleasant things around the area this time round that didn't bode well for my overall experience. I will stay in the Shibuya area next time. Hotel Wing is great for the Japanese tourist but not really equipped or doesn't really seem to cater for the international traveller.

Dear TravorGsydney
thank you for your stay at hotel wing international shinjuku.
Also thank you for using the hotel since hotel kent.

We are very sorry to make you disappointed about rooms.
Our hotel was renewed in 3years ago. Lobby, beakfast and 3F is totally changed. But the room was renewed for bed and wallpaper.
Room size and the bathroom will be the same. But we are happy that you had a great stay in our hotel. our hotel has alot of featured amenities in ther room so you don't have to bring anything.

Also we are very sorry to kept you waiting at the front desk.
Its our system that we couldn't find your name, but right now our system is connecting with internet reservation. So it wont happen again. We are sorry.

Since there are so many customer around the world we are shown infromation written in enlish. Also in the room and if you have a questions you can contact to the front desks.

Our hotel is located in middle of kabukicho but very convenient if you want to go sightseeing in tokyo such as TUKIJI, ODAIBA and ASAKUSA. At night outside is very noisy but if you come back to our hotel you don't feel noisy in the room.

We are very sorry to not make you satisfied in our hotel.

Thank you for your message.
Best regards

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2011

We stayed at Wing International for three nights. The rooms, while on the small side, were extremely clean and provided all the basic amenities. Location is in Kabukicho, which is the red light district and the neighbourhood can get noisy/rowdy at night. However, the hotel was very quiet and location extremely convenient, with a supermarket right downstairs and close to many shops and restaurants. What made the hotel stand out was the helpful staff. They have both cantonese and mandarin-speaking staff at concierge, who were extremely helpful when we asked questions relating to transport and directions (to the extent they event surfed the websites for us and printed out maps/timetables!). We would definately stay here again.
