“Good deal in expensive Tokyo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2013 via mobile

Small room which is normal by Tokyo standard but very clean. 5-10minute walk from Shinjuku station. Although in midst of the very busy kabukicho, room is sufficiently sound proofed for a good night sleep. Breakfast nothing to shout about.

Can not recommend this hotel highly enough and will certainly stay on any return visits. We arrived about 8.00am after an overnight flight and we were able to change and freshen up and have our luggage held until check in time. Our twin room was on the 13th floor next to the Excetutive Lounge which was strange but a nice open spot with free vending machine drinks. The room was modern and quite spacious. Our son had a double on a lower floor which would have been a bit uncomfortably small for a couple. Again it was well appointed with good quality bathroom products. We enjoyed the big range of breakfast foods. I think some reviewers forget all foreign visitors have to be catered for not just Westerners!
Shinjuku is a big busy station but the beauty is you can get everywhere very quickly and it is on the Narita Express. The hotel is reasonably easy to find the first time if you take the Eastern train exit and no 15 exit in the Sunade. Other reviewers have given very careful clear directions.
The hotel looked after our luggage while we walked the wonderful Kumano Kodo and we returned to our luggage taken to two up graded rooms. The 14th floor was a wonderful experience!
We found the area around the hotel vibrant but not at all threatening and were not hassled by touts. We entered via the back alley along the Golden Gai rather than Kabukicho. Although in a busy area we experienced no street noise except cheering the night Japan played Australia in the Soccer and everyone was watching on TV.
Memory Lane and all the big department stores are nearby. I had to replace long distant glasses and got a great price and selection at a nearby Alook, all done with lenses fitted in 30 minutes.
Thank you to the great staff for a wonderful stay!

This hotel is very convenient for the subway & train in Shinjuku. The room was somewhat small but otherwise very nice. The breakfast buffet was good. The interesting Golden Gai area is literally just outside the hotel. There are many, many restaurant options in the area.

Other than the cigarette scent left over by the previous occupants of our non-smoking room, everything was perfect. Notwithstanding, the hotel staff was quick (and extremely polite) to transfer us to another room.

We were equally pleased with the breakfast spread. The hotel also took care of guests who are unable to have breakfast, by allowing them to exchange the breakfast vouchers with items of equivalent value at the convenient store downstairs. We had to catch a wee-hour flight so got food from the store, on the go - free.

My family and I stayed at this Best Western for a week (May 13-19) we had the double bed rooms and also single bed rooms. Although the rooms are small you have to remember you are in Japan and the hotel rooms tend to be smaller unless you’re paying a greater price (you get what you pay for). Upon my arrival I was arriving after my family by myself and didn’t have any directions to the hotel so I called the Front Desk at the hotel and I had a male member talk me through from the train station all the way to the entrance of the hotel itself. I really appreciated his patience for me (sadly I forgot his name). We also ate at their breakfast buffet which had a very good selection of food to choose from. In our last days of our stay I wanted to surprise my mother and get her hair done in Japan so I asked *Higarashi* at the Front Desk to help me find a salon she was very helpful and sweet. On our day of departure she (Higarashi) also came out behind the desk to say goodbye to us. This gesture really made us feel special as guest of the hotel.

Room Tip: Just pay more and get a room with the double beds. Bathroom and room is bigger then the single bedro...

We stayed there for 10 nights. A great location for exploring tokyo, only a five minute walk to the station. Very close to the attractions of western tokyo (Shibuya/Harajuku) and right next to Golden Gai. The beuffet breaksfast was quite good, could do with some more western style food though. The rooms are small by western standards, but spacious compared to other rooms I have stayed at in Tokyo. The people at the service desk were always ready to help, their english was more than adequate. The only issue was being pestered by touts when returning to the hotel at night. Would stay here again.
