“Great location, great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012 via mobile

We enjoyed our stay here, staff were lovely, very helpful and spoke english. Rooms were typical Japan size but very clean and really quiet. Breakfast could have done with more western options. Comfortably located within 1km to Shinjuku station, it's a nice walk to the station with lots of shops. We didn't have issues with it supposedly being located in the red light district as you could even tell. There is also some really great restaurants around, especially a Korean BBQ restaurant just up from the hotel.

Great hotel and great location...but a little pricy...although Tokyo hotels are usually expensive. Great service, interesting location (not only Shinjuku but Kabukicho), but actually really cool for night-time walks...just don't go crazy into alleyways, but enjoy the specific night vibe!

Spent about 3 days here. Very central location and easy transportation options. Rooms are small, but good sized for Tokyo. Not crazy expensive, and great food and entertainment options all around. If you have to get around Tokyo or to other parts of Japan. This is a good base point for a few days. Clean and efficient.

Room Tip: Know what to expect, an efficient and pleasant stay

Love the Hotel, We were looking for a nice hotel with free breakfast and very near the Shinjuku Train Station, Dept. Stores and restaturants and we were very glad we booked this hotel. All the places we wanted to see was just a walk away and if ever we come back to Tokyo, we will still stay in this budget friendly, clean and nice staff hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for 6 nights in total on our honeymoon.

It is an interesting building built from 3rd floor and there is a convenience store on 1st floor. This hotel is well located near Shinjuku station (about 5 mins walk), which is one of the biggest stations in Tokyo.

Our room was very tiny, but I believe it's a standard size in Japan. Everything was working and our bed was comfortable. Although we were concerned about noise, we did not hear at all because of the double glass windows I guess. This hotel should be new and if you like to stay at new hotels, this is good.

Breakfast was included in our rate since we booked online in Canada. There were so many varieties and quite tasty. Very freshly baked breads are available which was our favorite part.

Front desk agents can be more friendly. Some of them were helpful, but some were not. I don't know how great their English is, but there are so many foreigners were staying at this hotel.

We will come back again next time in Japan:)

Room Tip: Ask higher floor if you are concerned about noise.

Impressed. Good value. Location much more vibrant (if a little sleazy, some of us don’t mind that) than most places you’ll find in Tokyo. Super helpful staff. Having said that, finding it isn’t easy. Make sure you check out the back pedestrian alleyway behind the hotel – feels like a little piece of early 20th century Tokyo in the middle of the city. Be adventurous and try some of the tiny bars, restaurants and yakitori joints around – even if there’s no English on the menu, you will be welcomed and have a great time.

This was a great find at a very affordable price for Tokyo. My cousin and I arrived into Japan and had to stay one evening in Tokyo before heading to Kyoto. We chose to stay in Shinjuku because it's a train hub. The Best Western was two or three short blocks from the station (a little hard to find because the sign was parallel to the sidewalk), but very clean and hospitable, with pajamas and slippers in the room and the nicest soaking tub and shower I've seen in a hotel. Beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet despite the central location. Breakfast was included and was fresh and yummy (Japanese and Western options).
Never thought I'd rave about a Best Western, but the chain's international locations are really nice.
