“great decor, small but cozy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

We stayed for 4 nights from 6-7 and 11-12 March. Unfortunately, all the non-smoking rooms were fully booked. The room was deodorized but there was still some distinct smoky smell, particularly at the sitting desk where the TV was placed.

For the first 2 nights, we were allocated a room on the ninth floor. On the next two nights, we got a fourth floor room. Both were located at the corner and it was real quiet. Good for sleeping!

The weather was still quite cold and very windy. The initial trip lugging the suitcase to the hotel was real taxing. We knew the general area but were unsure of how best to get there. A kind man helped by leading us but that route ended with us opposite the hotel and having to carry the heavy suitcases across a small overhead bridge.

I would say that is a shorter route but a better option from Shibuya train station would be to get out from the east exit, get on the huge overhead bridge by taking the lift, head towards roppongi dori and get off the bridge near to the police station. Walk around 200 metres ahead. You will pass by a 7- eleven store and a Doutor Coffee before reaching a Lawson store. Right outside Lawson store, cross via the pedestrian crossing. Turn left, go around the corner and you will be on Aoyamari-Dori. Head upwards about 100 metres.

Room Tip: Rooms at the corner will be quieter

“Price and location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

For the price and location you are not going to find better in Central Tokyo. The rooms are not huge but there are much smaller rooms in some Tokyo hotels that are more expensive. Not too far from Shibuya station (10 minutes walk if you know where you are going) although it is a little confusing to find the first time. The only downside is the 10am checkout (although you can pay an extra 3 thousand or so and extend it for a couple of hours) and the fact that you have to check you room key every time you leave the hotel. Not the best place if you are looking for a bit of anonymity. But otherwise highly recommended. Especially the deluxe rooms.

“great hotel, large double room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

We stayed for 4 nights in this hotel in January. The room we had was the largest of the hotel rooms we stayed at in Japan. However, I think the bed is a full size rather than a queen bed, and it was a bit cramped for the 2 of us. There is plenty of space otherwise for our luggage. The room was always spotlessly clean. They also give you 2 free bottles of water every day, which we appreciated. The staff spoke good English and were always cordial. The bathroom is quite small. The sink faucet and the shower/bath share the same control knobs, so one cannot use the sink while another is taking a shower, which is a negative. Wifi connection was good for our iPads. We got a great rate through Tingo.com

The location is great, very convenient to walk to the main Shibuya shopping/eating areas and the metro, although, like the other reviewers mentioned, you do have to climb up and down pedestrian bridge crossings. We didn't really take the metro that much since we like to walk to explore the city. From here, we walked to Shinjuku and Harajuku several times. We also walked to Roppongi Hills and to Narisawa when we spurged for dinner one night. To get to the hotel from Narita airport, we took Keisei limited express to Nippori station, which only cost 1000 yen pp, and then hopped on the JR Yamanote line to Shibuya station (150 yen pp). If you want to get into town faster, you can take the Keisei skyliner, but it will cost you an extra 1400 yen pp.

“Good hotel and good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Put aside all the kitty cat decorations and frill and you have a hotel that is very comfortable and only a few blocks from the station and the heart of all the action in the area. At the time, the internet only worked in the lobby, but at least it was included and there was a sitting area in the lobby. The hotel is very easy to walk right past as the entrance is back and above street level- especially if you just finished 22 hours in planes and layovers. If you have heavy luggage, you will have to back track away from the direction of the hotel to cross at a crossing walk, otherwise you can use the pedestrian overpass.
Choco Cro is a great place to have breakfast if you like baked goods. It is near Tokyu Hands (a great place to explore), so most people will be able to direct you to that. If you explore the allies, you might find a very small, fantastic place that does amazing coffee. For the life of us, we couldn't locate it again and regretted not making a mental map. Otherwise you will find that you are in an easy walk of anything you can want.

“Great Location & very clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013 via mobile

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nogjts. I chose this hotel for its location and I wasn't disappointed. It is a 5 minute walk from Shibuya station. Shibuya station is an excellent station that connects various subway lines and the express train from Narita. The hotel room was adequate size - it's not huge but that's typical of Japan. It was plenty of space for us. The bathroom was spotless and the bed was very comfy. Free wifi in the room was much appreciated. House keeping did a wonderful job. yummy herbal teas in the room that were refreshed daily as well. You do have to hand your key in each time you leave the hotel but that didn't bother us. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyway who wants a clean hotel right in the action.
