“Great place, great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2010

All the other reviews have mentioned why this place is great so I'll just give my main points on this stay:

1. Great Location: right next to the busiest train/subway station in the world. It makes getting around Tokyo a lot easier. From the airport we took the Narita Express and when we went back, we took the Yamanote Line to Nipoori to catch the Keisei Skyliner (easier than it sounds).
-there are sooo many places to eat, shop and peruse around this area - BUSY!

2. Rooms are small but functional: itty bitty but we were able to fit 2 people and 4 pieces of luggage comfortably.

3. Price is right!: For 3 nights (Fri-Mon) it cost us $470USD. Not too shabby for the area.

Other pros: fridge (so you can buy oj, etc. from the convenience store next door), extra toiletries in the lobby (body sponge, toothbrush).

Overall great place to stay if it's your first time in Tokyo!

Don't be fooled by the size of the rooms, because really, how much time do you spend in your room while sightseeing all day and night? The service was courteous and efficient. The entire hotel, including the rooms, were impeccably clean and maintained. This hotel is a great value due to its location to transportation, shopping, and restaurants.

We checked in at this hotel during the last part of our trip to Tokyo. We had difficulties finding this hotel initially. Station maps wasn't so clear. iPhone really helped.

Once, we got our orientation, getting to Shinjuku JR station from the hotel was only a 7 mins walk.

Check-in was quick and efficient. We were a bit surprised when asked to collect some of our toiletries (eg: cotton buds). Apparently, it's one of their efforts to save the environment.

We booked a room with double bed. It was a modern contemporary room that's really small but not to the point of claustrophobic (at least not to us being average sized Asians). It's also clean, comfortable and had what we needed.

There is a pay-TV card you can purchase on most floors which cost 1000 yen per day.

Staffs were very courteous. We also booked the airport limo for our flight back from the hotel counter.

There are a couple of convenience stores around and many more eating places across the street. Food was never a concern to us.

The hotel was very quaint and efficient. The room was a bit small but included all the basic necessities and clean. The hotel was walking distance to restaurants, shopping and major train station. I would stay again!!

I was pleasantly surprise at the standards for the three star hotel. The rooms are clean, beds comfortable, we miss the musical and warm toilet seats. The staff were very friendly and helpfful. It's a novelty to collect our amenities in the loby, combs, brush, shower caps etc..2 large canister of shampoo & conditioners in room. tthe location is fantastic, only minutes walk to Shinjuku famous crossing and Time Square . The only set back is there is no connecting room, and each floors have either all twins or all double.

DH and I stayed at the Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku for a week during our first trip to Tokyo. Arrival was very easy, took the N'EX train from Narita and brought us directly to the Shinjuku station. From the Southern Terrace exit, its only a 5 minute walk to the hotel. Check-in was easy, service friendly. We listened to other reviewers' suggestion and booked the double twin bed room which was much more roomier and nicer than our friend's room (which was just a single queen bed). Room kind of had a musky smell to it, but it went away after turning the a/c on for a few minutes. Beds were very comfy, as was the down comforter. Rooms also had free internet connection as well which was a plus! Overall for the price we paid, I think this hotel provides excellent value. While there is less to see/do on the south side of Shinjuku station, the east side is 15 minute walking distance and has a ton of restaurants, shops, department stores. Definitely check out the depachika (food basement) of Isetan! It is a foodie heaven!

This was an excellent choice of hotel for our 6-night stay in Tokyo. It's a chaotic city so you need somewhere quiet and relaxing to take a break from the madness.

We took the room with twin beds as we were concerned about space and the size of semi-double beds in Japan, given we were staying 6 nights. Smart move as the twin room offers much more space.

We asked for a room on a high floor with a city view and the hotel obliged - we were on the 14th floor. Not only do you get a panoramic up there, you also escape street noise. It was completely soundproof up there, with blackout curtains, so we slept brilliantly every night. There was free internet in the room, an amazing bathroom with bathtub, fridge in the room for our personal use. We felt extremely comfortable there. Hotel staff were friendly.

Hotel is in a great location - near Shinjuku station, next door to one of the metro stops, right opposite Times Sq shopping centre, other shops in Shinjuku area and near Shinjuku park. Public transport is great to other parts of town. Excellent part of Tokyo to stay in.

Only criticisms would be the lack of (affordable) breakfast and the check-in: our flight to Tokyo landed early and we told the hotel we'd be there early. So it was a little frustrating after an overnight flight to have to sit around for 2 hours before we could get into our room.
