While I did not stay at this hotel, my in-laws did and I spent a lot of time here during my trip to Japan. I stayed at the Cerulean Tower however; I do know that rooms here are much cheaper. Rooms are much smaller and part of the reason we did not stay here as we were a family of 5 and the Cerulean Tower was better able to accommodate. Accommodations are not as nice as the Cerulean. Rooms are much smaller and not as luxurious however, the rooms and hotel are impeccably maintained. There were several beautiful Ikebana arrangements on display. Location is actually better than the Cerulean Tower. The Shibuya Excel Hotel is located within the East/West Mall, which is a great place to shop and eat, across from the famous Shibuya Crossing, Hachiko and the Shibuya Train station. Location wise there is no better place in the Shibuya area. I have to comment on the kindness of hotel staff too. My mother and father in law were on one floor and my brother in law was on another floor at this hotel. For some reason there was some confusion on what floor my brother in law was on (I think there was some thought he was a on a security floor which made us unable to reach him and he did not pick up his phone). After some explaining they were able to call his room and pass him along to a family member to get the right information. It was a huge relief as we had an excursion planned. I can't thank the staff enough for there kindness during our family disorganization. When I get a chance to come back to Tokyo and my kids are older I would love to stay at this hotel. The location just can't get any better!
