“Great little place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

By Tokyo standards this is an inexpensive eats. We got there early, soon got very busy - they have a few set menus. They dont speak alot of English but they do have an English version of their menu so you can avoid any animal organs if you are not feeling brave. Made us feel very welcome

“Yakatori heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012 via mobile

Thank you again trip adivsor for helping me find yet another jewel in Tokyo. I was trying to find a Yakiniku joint with my husband, but failed of course. Thank goodness for tripadviser and location service to help me find this place nearby.

My husband and I got seated right in front of the grill and we got to see all the different yakitori being made with such care. EVERYTHING that we tried was 5 stars good!

Best thing is, the joint has English menu or you can just point to what you want and voila!

“Great yakitori restaurant accessible to foreigners”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

This restaurant is well worth a visit for anyone visiting Tokyo in the Roppongi area. It is a little difficult to find, but if you head down the hill from the Roppongi crossing you should be able to see and smell it on your left if you are looking carefully enough.

The restaurant is cosy with about 6 seats at the counter and a few tables with sunken seats. At dinner time it is indefinitely packed. The atmosphere is great - lots of shouting and drinking all around.

The food is the usual variety of Yakitori with a few unusual twists. Of the more regular dishes, the second grade beef is divine as is the wasabi chicken. The pancetta wrapped ginger is an unusual dish that is worth trying as are some of the more adventurous items on the menu: the toungue, hearts and livers are all great.

All in all this is the most accessible of the 'traditional' japanese restaurants I found in Tokyo.

“Fun food in a fabulous atmosphere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

Went here just on the trip advisor reviews and what a great choice it was for dinner one evening, whilst in Tokyo. It was a little difficult to find as there are no signs in English, however if you are walking down the hill from Roppongi station, it's on your left hand side. There are a pile of shoes just inside the door on the left and there are loads and loads of sake bottles behind the people cooking.
The menu is mainly various cuts of people cooked 'on sticks' yakitori style. Some of the cuts weren't quite to my taste. Chicken gizzard and beef tounge etc, however for the more fussy eaters there are plenty of 'normal cuts' of meat and loads of cheese and veg which are delicious. That said we ordered the chicken breast yakitori and the chicken came practically raw in the middle. We ummed and ahhed over whether to send it back, then we saw a couple order a selection of raw chicken pieces, including heart gizzard liver and chicken breast, so we just ate ours!!!!
We took our inspiration from the people sitting next to us and ordered a selection of dishes, then ordered some more and then some more, which was great fun! Although it is easy to loose track of how much you spend. So with a couple of beers and sake, it came to close to 6000yen. Expensive but the atmosphere and the food was brilliant and I'd have no hesitation in recommending it.

“Excellent food in an intimate atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

One of the highlights of my most recent trip. Best meat on a stick (for lack of a better term) I've had in Tokyo. This is a small restaurant that's not for the clausterphobic. Shoes are left at the door and most tables have floor/cushion seating. There are several places at the bar as well. The salted pork and skirt steak are both delicious. Very good location for a casual meeting or get together with friends. It tends to be noisy since the tables are tight. They have a good selection of Sake as well. Recommend starting with a selection of meat and then just adding more as you go along if you're still hungry.
