“Shiny and new in business area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013

This chain has some great hotels at great prices (for Japan)(see my review of the their Roppongi hotel for similar info), with variations by location. These are Western style rooms -- small by American standards but more than enough and not teeny tiny. Good amenities are provided in the bathroom, as well as a pajama shirt if you want to use it. Rooms were quiet! Beds are a bit firm (that seems to be the norm in Japan) -- fine for me but maybe others would not like it. FYI Japanese outlets are same as US (no 3-prong though), so you will not need an adapter for any electric-powered devices. There's an ethernet connection in theroom; if you have a Macbook Air, be sure to buy the $30 adapter for your laptop so you can connect. Wifi available in the lobby -- but gets crowded. Location is good but not in a major touristy part of Tokyo -- easy enough to get to Shibuya, etc. via subway/train (taxis are quite expensive)(Shiodome subway station is in basement; monorail is across the way); if you really need to be smack in the middle of hustle and bustle, this location does not fit the bill. Area is newly developed and a mini business district -- very safe and lots of restaurants, etc. in nearby adjacent buildings (which you can walk to easily via the elevated path -- no cars!). But this part of Tokyo is a little culturally bland. That said, this hotel is very clean and new, and if you want to be in Tokyo but don't need to be immersed in traditional culture or busy nightlife, this is a great deal. Ginza is about a 10-15 minute walk away, which isn't bad! Free breakfast -- mostly Japanese style, and same every day -- better than nothing! BTW if you come from Narita and have luggage, it's easier to take the Airport Limousine bus to the Conrad Hotel and walk the 25 meters to the Villa Fontaine. If you take the Narita Express train to Tokyo Station, it will cost you about 5,000 yen more each way, AND you still have to make your way from Tokyo Station to the hotel -- probably at least a $20 taxi ride or a few bucks' subway trip (which is a huge pain if you have luggage of any size -- lots of stairs and walking!). I will definitely stay here again and again (and I definitely always take the Airport Limousine Bus!).

Room Tip: If you can get a higher floor room that faces the monorail / bullet train tracks, it can be quite me...

Overall a nice hotel to stay at (for business trips). Somewhat small rooms that are ok for business trips, but probably too small for a longer vacation stay.

Location is good, very close to trains and a short taxi ride from Tokyo station (Narita Express).
Also close to restaurant areas and (Sky)bars

(Free) wireline internet in the rooms, and (free) Wireless internet in the Lobby.

Rooms and amenities in hotel are great. Size of room was relatively large and very clean, amenities were excellent.
Breakfast, both western and japanese was ok a little repeating and crowded.
Hotel is in a business district so you will not see too many people in the evening and is a short ride or a 20 minute walk from Ginza.
Lobby is very impressive, staff is friendly and helpfull. During my stay there was a 6.8 earthquake. Maybe local people are accustomed to it but I did think some notice or word from the hotel to tourists about what to do or expect after the earthquake or giving some info whether there are any warnings in effect was in place. I did not get any nor did i here there was a typhoon warning.

We were in Tokyo for few days, and we loved this hotel, the double room are big enough for 2 persons and they are really quite and clean.
The hotel does not have a restaurant inside, but around that area there are lot of good restaurant, cheap and good, and also expensive. There are 2 skyscrapers with good restaurant on the top floors.
Breakfast in this hotel is a buffet, and included Japanese fish and salad, croissant or eggs and sausages, coffee and tea, so, it’s ok for everyone!
The hotel is near 2 different metro line, and a JR station with 1 JR line and other 2 metro line is 15 minutes walking from it.

Following the late arrival of our flight, we caught the train service direct to Shimbashi station - from there following the No 10 exit it was an east walk to the hotel. Having arranged an early check-in, we were quickly able to have both a short nap and shower/ bath. The room was spacious with an attractive view to the Hama-rikyu-teien gardens & the river beyond.

Quiet room with beds that were of the firmer type - no problem, reasonable breakfast was a mixture of Japanese and European food, collected & eaten on a tray - the norm for much of Japan, could get rather busy. BBC World News was the only English language TV programme. Kettle with limited tea bags - bring some extra, no safe.

Small supermarket on the upper entrance floor also a number of small restaurants in the adjacent building to the hotel plus two coffee shops.

The area was quiet, easy access to central Tokyo by Shimbashi, overall I liked the area & would stay again at this hotel

Hotel based inside a smart looking business district office block with an imposing lobby. Hence you'll see a lot of business types and salarymen staying here.

Rooms are clean and functional albeit slightly dated, the built in hotel alarm clock looks like its from the 1980s. Enjoyed the breakfast, served like a school canteen meal in those plastic trays. Lots of traditional japanese and western breakfast options (natto, rice, burgers, eggs etc).

Use an ethernet cable for internet access in the hotel room, wireless a bit iffy.

Good value and near public transport, plenty of restaurants and noodle bars etc located in the Shiodome plaza next door.

Next to Ginza and to some high-tech business; very close to the Haneda airport (20 mins by Tokyo Rail). Large, well kept rooms with fancy TV; free Internet. High-tech,impeccably air-conditioned, sporting well-designed, large bathrooms. Unwarranted-tough security (last theft in MInato-ku was in 1650 or so) but it makes guests feel good. Most of the staff speaks relatively clear English, Impeccably clean, No gym :-). Breakfast only for the stoics able to put up with the Japanese definition of "Western breakfast"- which is a few good country-miles apart of the, say, European perception of the concept. But it's included...so gobble up the pseudo-eggs; they will last you way over lunch. All in all, exemplary value of the money - large, clean and functional.

Room Tip: get a high floor room away from the street (duh..);
