“Ok stay, but not great for kids”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2013

We booked a double room for 4 nights at the Prince Park Tower based on the great reviews from Trip advisor, and also a very good price (170,000 per night). Finding the hotel was pretty easy (especially if you aim to take the short shuttle from Hamamatcho station), and the location was pretty good, although it was a bit of a walk through the garden to get anywhere. We ran into problems however, as the hotel restaurant (on the 33rd floor) does not let kids in, nor does the swimming pool (which my 4 year old was especially looking forward to). We also found the other restaurants in the hotel to be very expensive. In the end, we transferred to one of their other sister hotels (in Shinagawa) which had a pool that kids could use, however, found it to be too much like Disneyland. I hear that the Prince hotel in Shinjuku is best location, though small rooms.

I stayed at The Prince Park from Feb 6- 9, 2013. This is the hotel absolutely different from traditionally tiny -room hotel in Tokyo. Stunning Tokyo tower and park view with up to American-standard King-size bedroom (It is really huge). The bathroom is big with a massage bathtube and stand-up shower. I and my husband enjoyed the hotel very much. This is the hotel that you want to spend time with, but not immediately escape from the tiny room for fresh air. We stayed at the superior room with a balcony but my friend stayed at normal room with same size (The difference is no balcony only and nicer coffee machine!) . The bad thing that I would say for this hotel is the LOCATION. I am a Hongkongness. We like convenience very much. But you have to walk about 10 mins to Daimon subway and 15 mins to Hamamatsucho JR (Hotel also has free shuttle bus, but the walk is absolutely manageable). I think for shoppers or some people who really really want to stay at the heart of the city (something next to the subway). This is NOT your choice. But if you like good rest, quiet park view and enjoy walking in the sunny winter day, this is your choice.

We stayed here one night 2 ppl

We arrived at the hotel and the customer service was really good and we were taken straight away to the reception desk to check in, we was then told we have been upgraded to a superior room on the 19th which was fantastic news. We got there really early too but no issues with check in.

The reception and lobby was was clean and tidy and looked very upper class, when we got to the it was very clean, big, fab bathroom and it had an amazing view! Tokyo tower! Fell in love with the view. The rooms could do with a face lift though that's all I could say as a downside.

We went to the bar at the top of the hotel which was amazing, trendy, hip, amazing cocktails, we had a mojitos! Just a bit of the expensive side though. Amazing views again at night.

The swimming pool was chargeable which was rubbish to say you pay a lot to stay for one night! Wasn't impressed.

There is a little cake shop downstairs In the lobby area which was really nice :) only issue was there was no seating to eat it which would have been nice.

Location also good 5mins walk to tube station...we couldn't find any restaurants around hotel until we walked to rappongi or daimon which took 10-20 mins.

Overall nice hotel! Good customer service! Nice room and amazing views! A bit expensive for what it was and to say we was upgraded no facilities were included. I would defo come back though but not In a hurry

Stayed 3 nights on business in a superior room. Very spacious, particularly the bathroom (shower, separate jacuzzi bath), 27th floor, great views. For Tokyo the price was good and the staff and service are first class. The room decor is a bit old-fashioned but still in good condition. All round, really enjoyed the stay. Level B1 has several restaurants offering all styles of Japanese food. Prices are not cheap but quality was good. Thoroughly recommended

very large rooms, while the decor is very 1980's it's spotless, clean and well maintained.
I was on one of the executive floors that meant I had a balcony which I love. The view was over the water and the bridge to Henada and great morning sun coming through the large windows.
Always easy to get a taxi and the staff are very friendly. The bathroom has a spa and a heated toilet seat.
It also has plenty of draws so you can unpack. No irons in the room but a speed 3 hour turn around on pressing which was faultless.
The only negatives were the wi-fi blocks VPN access and the only english TV service was BBC & CNN (BTW - you need to hit the bilingual button on the remote to do away with the dubbed japanese) it would be great if they could add Bloomberg.
Mini bar prices are reasonable, there a convenience store down stairs.
The bar on the top floor has a nice view, but the drinks are full of ice and not much else so I wouldn't bother.
Overall a great hotel and I'm sure to stay here again.

Room Tip: hi floor with balcony

This hotel is located near a park so lots of space to walk around or jog if you prefer. But within 10 min of walk you can find restaurants, ATMs, super markets, drug stores etc, so very convenient too. The Tokyo tower is right cross the street and you can see it from many of the rooms. The airport shuttle from NRT and HND stops at this property and the concierge desk can book the shuttle. Room is of normal size with two beds (I was told they don't have single bed rooms). Breakfast buffet at the top floor is bountiful with both Japanese and western selections, and the breakfast bento in the Japanese restaurant in the basement is adequate (but I felt more people would go for the buffet). What strikes me most is how environment friendly the hotel is. They offer voucher to use in the hotel for agreeing not to have the room service (max 2 nights at one time), which is a smart way to save energy and cost. The soap is in a big bottle rather than the small individually wrapped pieces (which you usually can't finish in 2 days anyways). I think maybe other toileterries (shampoo, conditioner and bathsoap) can be the same with the option to request individual packages. During my stay I did not have many problems or requests but they were all addressed in a quick manner. When I used my voucher to buy some souvenir at the gift store, the clerk alerted me that the food item I was buying was expiring in 2 weeks and asked if I wanted an exchange. I was travelling to other places and this reminder did change my mind. The customer oriented service should be commended.

Firstly i couldnt recommend the limousine bus more to get to this hotel, was just what we needed after a long flight. The check in process was fine no issues but the one thing we got when we first got into the room was a very pungent smell of seafood which we noticed was coming from the wardrobe, I remembered we talked about sorting it out in recpetion and maybe changing rooms straight away but we just couldnt be bothered. We kept the wardrobe closed the whole time and after the second day didnt notice the smell.
We went down to the mainbar on the basement level right after having a shower on our first night, wasnt very inspiring so we left and went to the skylounge on the 33rd flr instead. Despite reading other peoples comments about the priceyness of the bar we actually came back to the bar every single night of our 6 night stay. To be honest i didnt find the drinks too expensive and with the great view and fantastic staff (Especially Kaz who we got to know quite well and who's english was pretty good) why wouldnt you want to come up here after a long day of travelling to unwind! But hey everyone has a budget so i understand why this may have seemed pricey for some.
Another bonus about the hotel which I havnt seen other people mention yet is the bowling saloon which is on B2 Level- what is this you may be thinking?... well you can play ten-pin bowling, billiards or darts. Not cheap i think for an hour of billiards it was 1500 yen per person or something along those lines but it offers something i have never come accross in another hotel before.
Some of the cons besides the smell in our room:
1. No free wifi in our room, when we asked about it they said housekeeping could deliver a modem to the room, but what they failed to mention was the cost so when we saw a 10,000yen bill in our room for the use of it we returned it to them.
2. Unable to get a takeaway hot coffee anywhere in the hotel, seems such a simple thing but we just couldnt get one so the hotel shop was handy in that respect and we brought cold starbucks cafe lattes for about 200 yen each morning on our way out.

Overall we were very happy with the size of the room and the bathroom was we thought abit of luxury, the staff were generally very good and helpful some spoke no english though which made small talk quite difficult. We would stay here again :)
