Planned on staying at the ANA, but prices were ridiculous, so thought I'd try this place out. I loved it. In my book this place is 5 star, but since I don't want others to discover this gem, I give it 4 stars. No, it's not fancy and big like the ANA or Hyatt, but the rooms are WAY bigger, the staff is very friendly, the place is nice & quiet, the restaurant has great breakfast, the rooms are very clean, and there is free wifi. What more could you want? Oh, It's also close to lots of great restaurants, the subway, grocery stores, Starbucks, shopping. If you're tired of small boxy hotel rooms, give this place a try.

Having previously stayed in more up market establishments we were very pleased to find the Avanshell which at less than half the price is fantastic value. Rooms are very big and clean. Bathroom has in bath shower but it's powerful and everything works. Staff are very friendly and although at first it appears no wifi if you ask they give you a wifi unit to use for free! No rip off charges. Doesn't have all the amenities but everything you need is close by.

If you're looking for an excellent location (really close to a Metro station, close to the heart of the city, numerous great eating options close by), spacious and clean rooms, friendly service and good value for your yen, then the Avanshell Akasaka is going to be tough to beat.

The Avanshell is a great, spacious, friendly and very convenient hotel. Great area to stay. Very close to two subway stations and a great restaurant downstairs. Huge rooms and great value for money. Everything you need is supplied.This is my third stay and will be staying again soon.
