“Nice hotel with good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2014

We stayed in this hotel in April 2014 for our first time in Tokyo. The staff is polite and friendly and speaks english perfectly.

Although the bathroom was really tiny, the room was quite big for japanese standards. We had a "Hollywood Twin" room, with a small sofa and table, desk, and a small kitchen with a tap and sink, a small fridge and a microwave. There were bottles of water, and tea/coffee provided daily at no extra charge. There also is a washing machine in the room but we did not need to use it (it was all in japanese anyway).

The Wi-Fi was free and quite fast and reliable for a hotel Wi-Fi. There also was a flat-screen TV with mostly local channels (but also some in english), and a DVD-player.

The hotel is located in Roppongi, minutes away from the nearest subway station (Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line and Toei Oedo Line). Although the highway is quite close, it's not very noisy when the windows are closed.

The room was very clean and the lobby, elevators and corridors always had a pleasant smell.

The staff are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms are small but clean , and the location is just a ten minute walk to the subway. Lots of shops close-by, including the "Kill Bill" restaurant 2 minutes down the hill. Good value hotel for Tokyo.

We had a very nice stay at Roppongi S Hotel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, although not very spacious. The location is not bad, near the Roppongi Hills complex and not to far from the subway station. The breakfast was very good. Would recommend it to my friends.

Hotel S is well positioned near Roppongi Hills. The hotel is quite trendy, with modern design influences, without losing its warmth. The rooms are compact (hey this is the middle of Tokyo!) but adequately sized. Rooms are attractively furnished with fridge, sink, TV and free wireless Internet.

I find many hotels in Japan have really hard beds, but the one in Hotel S was very comfortable with fresh, clean linen.

I found the breakfast selection quite limited, and doesn't cater well to western preferences - the inclusion of a few more western style dishes and a greater selection of breads / rolls would be a welcome addition. I'm not a salad for breakfast type of person!

There are plenty of eating options near the hotel - Roppongi crossing is a 10 minute walk away as is the Oedo subway line - quite convenient to Haneda airport via either the Keikyu line via Daimon, or the Haneda Monorail. An hour is adequate to get to the airport by train.

Overall I would recommend Hotel S as a great place to stay if you need to be near Roppongi, or as a base for exploring Tokyo

If you want to be in the heart of Roppongi
If you dont want to spend a fortune on the hotel
If you're OK with clean but a slightly more minimal hotel experience
If you're not big on breakfast in the hotel (coz there's looked pretty weak- though cheap)
If you're OK with a location that is a bit hard to find (as the hotel is smallish)
Then you will like Hotel S.

Clean, efficient and helpful staff.
AC over the bed almost gave us a cold- but the room becomes too stuffy if you dont use it
All the basic amenities can be found in the bathroom
Bed and bedding very comfortable for this price point

Only niggle- could you please PLEASE find a way for people with suitcases to not have to carry them up the entrance steps? Not very clever for a hotel to have 5 steps at the entrance.

Would return and recommend.

Thank you so much for your comments. Yes, you are right, the space is not big but since it is a quiet little get-away in the middle of one of Tokyo's busiest areas, we hope the location and friendly staff made up for size. We would be very honored to serve you again and thank you for your review.

Stayed at the Hotel S Roppongi for 3D2N, in a Cube room which I think was one of the smaller rooms available. It literally was a small cube, much smaller than the hotels I'm used to in other countries, but I suppose it was the Japanese style of cleverly packing so much into such a small space that made it seem so functional! There was a living area with a television set, a raised platform for a bed, a toilet with a shower/tub/sink/toilet, and a study area complete with study desk, open wardrobe, sink, and mini fridge. How do they do it?! I'm still in awe.

I stayed solo, but I think the room would have been a comfy option for 2. The bed was big and soft, I literally just collapsed into it after a long flight and slept the whole afternoon away. They provided tea/drip coffee and bottles of mineral water. True to the wonderful attention to detail, toilet amenities included cotton buds, toothbrush kits, a disposable razor, body scrub towels, foldable comb, and a hair band for the ladies. Water was warm and comfortable, perfect especially after being out in 3 degrees all day.

Hotel was about a 10 minute walk from Roppongi station, which isn't too far from where the action is in Shibuya/Shinjuku/Harajuku. The famous Gonpachi restaurant was just a short walk away, and there was also shopping and good food all around. Wifi was great, service staff spoke as best English as they could and were very pleasant, breakfast was great. All in all, Hotel S Roppongi was a lovely and cosy stay for my short visit. Worth a try!

It is so nice to hear you say that you cant find anything negative to say! We work hard to make what used to be an old and sad building into a place of light, comfort and a deep feeling of welcome for all our guests. Please come again and do try your best to find areas in which we can improve since we are always looking for how to be better.

Right in the middle of Roppongi, this hotel is an oasis. You will meet there designers, young people, tourists and business people, eclectic people flocking together, like attracted by a magnet.

The business lounge is designed in a retro style, and the wall of the coffee shop is made of vegetation. There is a complete harmony between the two that makes you feel at home.

The rooms are so very spacious, it is hard to believe it. In Tokyo, room generally are of modest dimensions. But not here! The room is huge. The beds are very comfortable and it is impossible not to sleep well in them. Even the bath: it's swimming pool dimension makes you feel like a princess! There is a huge desk, a sofa. A place to relax and to work. With just the right amount of natural and indirect light, and a very luxurous touch, albeit discreet and wrapped up in simplicity.

The breakfast is buffet style. Occidental or Japanese. The juices and the fruits are fresh, and coffee has a very soft torrefaction.
