Okay, I'm not from the US but I have had a couple of brunches over the years. A couple of days ago Lauderdale next to Roppongi hills here in Tokyo.
The brunch menu I choose from has six or eight mains ranging from about 1600-1800yen, with eacg main you get to choose two sides/appetizers, e.g. coffee, OJ, rilette, falaffels etc.Coffee is free flow if that is what you choose.
I had a mushroom&gruyere souffle and my partner pancakes with cranberry jam.
The souffle was excellent, perfectly made, fluffy but still creamy and very tasty, it could hardly have been made better. The pancakes were also very good with the nice touch that the cranberry jam had a strong and pleasant real cranberry taste, also not too sweet.
Service was good and generally attentive, including that the coffee was frequently re-filled, they were a little slow to get the water first though. When the food came they set up a small side table next to our table so that all could fit. Seating on the patio was nice and not too hot this time, tables ok and the chairs a little hard.
So for a casual brunch in Tokyo, at a price less than 2000 yen, this very good and a place I'd strongly recommend. The location is also very convenient just next to Roppongi hills.
