“Luxury in the heart of Roppongi!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2012 via mobile

I've stayed here 2 times. To be honest, the 1st time, I wasn't impressed. But the second time, they really stepped up their game! The customer service was top notch. From check-in to the restaurants, concierge and house keeping, they anticipated every need I could possibly have. The room (a junior suite) was phenomenal! Yes, you will pay more to stay here, but with the convenient location and all of the amenities a Hyatt has to offer, your money will be well spent!

the Grand Hyatt Tokyo came a good second (and cheaper). Once over the general facelessness of a Hyatt and our failure to ensure that rooms would be available when we arrived, leaving us rather tired and sticky, with nowhere to go and evidently no rooms available until the all important check in time, things could only get better. The room was quiet, bed comfortable, tea pot available (most important) and the desk well-equipped - plenty of plug points. Others have said good things about the bathroom and yes, for a normal hotel type like the Hyatt, the bathroom was brilliant - I love the Japanese shower/tub combo and the tub itself was moulded just perfectly for a relaxing soak. I still haven't managed to work out the wilder excesses of the loos - I leave this for another day. I should mention that the room service and housekeeping staff were helpful and charming, with good English and the Front Desk immediately on the case with maps and print outs for where I wanted to go. So, in summary - a good business hotel and provided you can work within their time constraints, the bath awaits! The spa does not appear to have an onsen. Just to mention, that the public areas of the hotel were maintained at a rather higher temperature than normal - part of the energy saving initiative that Tokyo is embracing, but a bit surprising if you are used to the glacial temperatures international hotels espouse.

Room Tip: I had a room at the back - it was definitely quieter.

After living in Tokyo for 9 years, we love going back there in family every year. We stayed there 3 times already for 3 to 4 nights and each time it was fabulous. The rooms are comfortable and the bathroom is just perfect. The breakfast and the Week End brunch is excellent !
The location is convenient and we are familiar to the area with excellent restaurants from yakitori to sushi/sashimi to izakaya or even italian and french. Shops are lovely and lots of traditional japanese street food are still there. The metro is just 5 minutes away from the hotel.
After a long day of walking, visiting and eating, going to the Grand club is great. We can relaxed by the pool (indoor), there is also a snack lounge, a spa, a steam and a sauna. So perfect !

The hotel is located in the fashionable Roppongi part of Tokyo, recommended to me by local business people as one of the best in Tokyo (which in Tokyo comes at a price, i.e. EUR 300 per night at company rate). The hotel follows the general Hyatt formula, but adds a subtle but nice Japanese touch to it. The entire hotel has an oak theme in public spaces and guest rooms. Rooms are quite large by Tokyo standards, particularly the bathrooms which feature a tub plus a walk-in shower, the latter about 1.5 m2. A room feature that is particularly helpful if you are jetlagged is that the rooms have blinds which completely shut out daylight if you wish. The various restaurants (Italian, French, Steakhouse, Japanese and Chinese) during lunch time are largely filled by affluent local housewives, it felt like being part of a Sex in the City set. The food is excellent, but even a "simple" Sushi lunch runs easily at EUR 50 per person. The Oakdoor bar has a reputation for attracting high end working girls late in the evening, trying to pick up their last customer for the night; whether you consider this attractive or not is up to you. The hotel staff is very helpful and attentive. Travel between Narita airport and the hotel is very easy, as one of the "friendly airport limousine" buslines goes straight to the hotel (running about once per hour, about 90 min travel time).

The hotel is excellent. The lobby is stylish and spacious and the check-in process is quick and easy. The rooms are very good and quite large for Tokyo and have all the amenities you would expect in a 5 star hotel. The staff are just fabulous and nothing is too much trouble. The Grand Club is well laid out and the breakfast is excellent. The location is great as it's walking distance from some good restaurants and night clubs and also close to Roppongi Hills Metro. The only small issue is that the gym is a little on the small side but it's reasonably well equipped.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful in its modern design, comfortable rooms, and sense of tranquility in the heart of Tokyo. The concierge staff goes way beyond the call of duty in assisting the non- Japanese speaking guest in navigating the city. I even had a staff member escort me to an ATM nearby that I was having difficulty finding! The room rate is steep, but worth the price if one is on business with limited time to spare on logistics.

Stayed here for 3 nights, room despite located on lower floor was nicely decorated with all the expected amenities expected for a 5 star hotel. Truly like the tv in the bathroom and the service is very attentive yet unobtrusive. Location wise is not really in the center of Tokyo but very easy access from everywhere due to the availability of Metro in the adjacent Roppongi Hills complex. First class
