“Very good Hotel, in front of Rainbow Bridge”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

Very nice location, just few steps from the Yuricamome Monorail Station named Daiba. From there you can easily access Shimbashi Station, where you can go everywwhere you may want in Tokyo. The rooms are clean and confortable, although the cigarrete' smell.
Nice view of the Rainbow Bridge

“Very nice hotel, not so nice service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

Nice hotel, close to Haneda airport (although, review what time you need to leave as transfers are not 24hrs)
BUT:
- They wanted to charge me 30% of the rate for checking in 2 hours earlier (even though I was staying for only 12 hours1)
- There is no internet in the rooms, you have to call them to install a router that didn't work, took an hour in the phone to finally connect to internet
- Reception staff speak very basic English
- You need to pay for everything in the spa but the gym

“Luxurious comfort with awesome view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012

My recent stay in Tokyo brought me to Hotel Nikko where I was simply blown away from the very moment I stepped into the room. Greatly different from the usual cramp and worn-out feel one gets from most Tokyo lodging establishment, Nikko has relatively huge rooms with a real balcony that you can stepped out to and take in all the magnificence of Tokyo Bay accompanied by the famed Rainbow bridge-day through night. The room come equipped with a side space (beside the king size bed) for sofa and 2 armchairs which is right beside the dressing table separated by a spacious walkway leading to the balcony. The washroom is not your typical plastic pre-build units oh-so-common in Japanese hotels, but a proper one with showering area beside (not in) bathtub and separated from sink area by a pretty glass door. Aside from these simple pleasures, Nikko has a beautiful in house Japanese restaurant with speciality sections serving kaiseki, tempura, teppanyaki and sushi. I.e. 4 other mini restaurants under the same roof of a quaint traditional Japanese restaurant setting. I cannot ask for any better but if location matters to you, meaning if you need harajuku or shibuya at your doorstep then maybe you will need to think twice.

“Great Hotel in the City”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

The hotel is located at Daiba in the city so you have to take the monorail (next to hotel) to link to the Japan Rail. There is also a Japan Rail station about 10 minutes walk away.

We had a room over looking the Rainbow Bridge which is a great view at night when it is being light up. In the morning it's just a normal bridge.

Breakfast is good... A combination of Asian and Japanese food. We are allowed to eat in any restaurant in the hotel which serve breakfast which is great as we went to 3 different restaurant in the 5 nights we stayed in this hotel.

The hotel also provide free shuttle to and from Disneyland. The nearest shopping area is a Aquacity shopping complex next doors from the hotel, you can get Toy'r us, Gap Store & etc. the food court in this complex has a very nice interior. The nearest supermarket is 2 doors away at Decks Shopping Complex.

Further away is Palatte Town Shopping complex where the Toyota Mega Web, a big Toyota showroom showing their latest and also concept cars. There is also a motorcar museum in this complex.

“禁煙ルームなのにタバコの匂いが - Non-smoking room but smelled smoking”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

English is following.

I stayed at Hotel Nikko Tokyo for two nights with my American partner when we went back to my home country, Japan. Our room was a now-smoking Rainbow view Tower room had one double bed, which room type has the best view in this hotel. However, the room’s view was not so impressed for us. Unfortunately, the other hotel which we stayed three nights before coming to the hotel had better view of Tokyo City was like a jewelry box. In spite of non-smoking room, our room had smoking smell. I tried to burn my incense for eliminating the smoking odor in our first night, but it didn’t work. Next day, probably, the clean staff put air freshener, thus, it would be better.

The hotel was old. Even I could understand that they tried carefully maintaining and keeping clean, though... Many staff were always in lobby. All of them were helpful and always greeting us. In fact, it might be a part of Japanese high hospitality which we can be proud of.

They are excellent grade hotel, but it’s not modern stylish but typical Western style hotel of Japan. We’ve been in abroad, so, we felt complicated feeling that it’s not authentic Western style but it’s an old Japanese western hotel style.

I visited to Odaiba in six years since last time, I felt that the town also became old. In the town, there were mainly local residential people, worker, rural young Japanese, or Chinese tourist. I was surprised to find two type of newspapers in the hotel lobby; Wall street journal and China Dairy English version.
This hotel’s station Odaiba is in 15 min. from shimbashi station, but I felt it’s longer than my thought. The cost of train and the travel time are annoying for busy tourist from abroad.

We paid 46,200 yen for 2 nights, 2 peoples included with breakfast. It must be cheaper than their regular rate. However, we couldn’t feel the value of paying over $600.

If you like Odaiba, otherwise, if you stay in only Odaiba area or this hotel, stay here is okay. But, if you’re busy tourist and the purpose of your travel has in the center of Tokyo, take your room to another hotel in the heart of Tokyo.

Room Tip: Higher floor, rainbow bridge and Tokyo city view.
