“Remote location but nice rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

If you're in Tokyo for day trips and shopping, this may not be the best location as it's about 20-30mins away from the main town area. However, it is peaceful and quiet and facing the waterfront. I notice that many stay here as there is a shuttle bus to Tokyo Disneyland. The prices are definitely cheaper than if you stayed in Disney itself.
The rooms are small (usual Tokyo size) but surprisingly, the toilets were much larger than usual. It was pleasant not having to dodge around the door to get from end to end, or hit myself on the basin or such like. The variety available for breakfast is good, to cater to both Asian and Western tastes. If not, there is always a convenience store just downstairs to grab a canned coffee and bun.
The train station is connected to the hotel, so that is a plus. There is a shopping mall nearby, but don't expect a great variety of shops. Enough to get by if filling an hour or 2.
One grouse i have is that they do not provide free bottled water. You have to purchase bottled water yourself, and recycle the bottles to contain the water from the kettle they provide in the room. Amenities are good though, above average i would say. If you need wifi in the room, do approach the reception to get their wifi kit, which can connect to the LAN in the room and provide wifi for your mobile/ipad right in your room.

Where to start? May be a bit kitsch by today's "sophisticated traveller" standards but it's in a great location (away from the city center but a quick trip by train) with good views of the Tokyo Bay area, has spacious & comfortable rooms, all the necessary amenities and then some, exceedingly friendly, helpful and polite staff.

The Grand Pacific is located a bit of a ways out of the busy Tokyo center, but it is a far cry from being isolated. With a number of malls within walking distance from the hotel, and views of the water, the location is ideal. In comparison to the more urban parts of Tokyo, Odaiba boasts open spaces which is like a breath of fresh air after a long day of scouring the compacted streets in the metropolis.
The staff are eager to help with whatever you need and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. If you happen to cross any of the hotel workers (even maids), they'll stop whatever they're doing just to greet you.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Perhaps my favorite thing about the room is all the free knick-knacks in the bathroom, I've been to my share of hotels and this one had the highest quality and largest assortment of complimentary toiletries I have ever seen.
Overall, my stay here was great.

Room Tip: Ask for a non-smoking room

We stayed in the Grand Pacific in December 2011. After a long flight from Ireland we arrived at the hotel at about 11am but the staff did everything they could to get us a room straight away even though we should not have been checking in so early. The rooms were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms luxurious. As one might expect in Japan the staff were on hand to take care of any issues. The train stops right outside the hotel and a 15 minute journey gets you downtown to Shimbashi. Lovely hotel.

Room Tip: If you pay extra you can get a city view from the higher floors.

The hotel is located in the Odaiba district which is connected to the central Metro and JR line (Shimbashi station) transportation system through the excellent Yurikamome monorail system. Interesting is the ride on the rainbow bridge with that transportation system to Odaiba, which is like a modest theme park ride with nice views of the harbour.
There are 2 big shopping malls within 5 minutes walking distance that offer the usual global shopping experience and a wide choice of restaurants as the restaurants in the hotel close early and the Teppan-yaki restaurant was always booked. Tokyo, in general, goes to bed early.
The rooms are spacious (again not necessarily Tokyo standard) and the service is excellent. A 24 hour supermarket close to the side (station) entrance to the hotel is a bonus too.
On weekends the place is apparently a preferred venue for family celebrations and weddings.

We have spent four nights at the hotel. Nice hotel, spacious room (our room is for 3 persons, with about 80 feet toilet, ladies skin cleansing set), fantastic day & night sea views. Pleasant & helpful staff. With a convenient store, some gift shops & a cafe within the hotel shopping centre. Suitable for those who wish to visit Disneyland as there are free shuttle bus (advance reservation is required), only about 30 minutes. Monorail station (Odaiba) connected to hotel's main lobby level (only 3 minutes walk, safe and convenient). Shuttle bus to busy metro station (Shinagawa & Tamachi, 200 yen for adult and 100 yen for children, advance reservation is not required, with schedules). Free shuttle tour bus for the area of Odaiba (advance reservation is not required, with schedules). Direct bus to Yokohama station (800 yen for adult & 400 yen for children, reservation is required). Direct airport limousine to & from hotel (to hotel - no reservation is required but advance reservation with hotel for the departure is required). Shopping (Venus Fort, outlet), eating and sight-seeing facilities (rainbow bridge) within Odiaba area. Near Oedo-Onsen Monogatari (a famous hot spring and entertainment tourist spot). Good place for family, couples & friends. My family likes this hotel a lot. Will definitely come back when visit Tokyo next time.
