“Spacious room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Went to this hotel in mid of May with 2 kids. The room is large enough for all of us. The kids could enjoy and run around. The staffs is helpful. I requested for a baby cot they sent a e-mail to ask about the age of my kids, and they prepared a baby cot and also the bed guard for my elder son. The hotel is close to Shinagawa Train station with 5 minutes walk. There are many shops and restaurants nearby. At the Shinagawa station you can go to anywhere as it is the station for the Shinkansen too. Go to Akihabara within 10 minutes, Shinjuku around 20 minutes. You can come to this hotel by taking Narita Express or Airport Limousine Bus. Overall this hotel is quite good except the floor carpet which is old and has some stain. The bathroom ameties is not in good quality but adequate.

Our school took six students to Japan, while in Tokyo we stayed at the Prince Sakura Tower Hotel, we booked two rooms, three students and one teacher in each room. The hotel was very spacious, it had a separate toilet, the bathroom had a shower and spa bath. We were supplied with robes and slippers, the room was well appointed and good value for money. It was in a good location close to the station and the Japanese garden was a treat.

We had an un-planned addtional night in Tokyo and wanted to stay close to the station. Got a good rate here on hotels.com. Becasue it was last minute, they only showed smoking rooms as being available. Concerend about the smkoikng room but despirate, booked it anyway.

Lobby is nicely appointed with plenty of seating, check in as ok. As we entered the room, I hears the 1950's saying they wanted there furniture back! The room could have been used a scene on the cable tv show Mad Men. Everything from the furniture, carpert, wall paper, bedding, and linens. This was the top of the line place the stay....in 1955!

However, the room was exceptionally larges and on par with a major hotel chain in the US. Once we got over the intial shock of the 1950's decor, we enjoyed our last night in Tokyo. Oddly, the toilet was in a small room (water closet) and across the hall was the bath/shower. Just a bit strange situp, but not a real inconvenice since it was all family staying in the room.

Bathroom well well appointed, great water pressure, plenty of hot water. All in all, not bad for a one -nighter, but it due for a makeover. Its located in the complex accross from Shinagawa Station, so very convenient fro getting around. Also, NRT shuttle bus comes right to the front door of the lobby for easy transport to airport.

Although we did not have cahnce to tour, there are some great gardens on the grounds that look very inviting.

This has to be my favourite hotel in tokyo and i have stayed in a few. Easy to get straight from Haneda by airport limousine bus. Fantastic gardens to walk through and much needed time out from hustle and bustle. 2 minute walk to subway, fantastic breakfast serving the best breakfast surry i have ever had, although a little steep but definatelty worth it. Great food, fantastic beer and enetrntainment in the bar. Rooms huge for tokyo and worth every penny. The staff were very helpful and also arrnaged our onward transport in Hakone for free.

The hotel is in walking distance to the JR line. AirPort Bus service offers a ride from Narita AirPort for 3.000 yen. Once you get familiar with the JR, you realize that the hotel is almost 20 minutes to Ginza and other fancy districts. The room is clean and big, and has a nice view of Tokyo Tower. No hesitate to book this hotel.

Positives:
1. Massive rooms - This room had to be double to triple all the other six hotels we stayed in during our trip to Japan. We did stay in an executive king suite which was only $20 more expensive than other hotels we stayed at. We did get an online deal that helped a lot and we stayed there the longest for a bigger discount.
2. The bed was huge with clean sheets and amazing comforters and pillows. I could literally roll over twice and just reach my wife.
3. The hotel is close to public transportation. The railways were only 5 minutes walking distance with restaurants littered all over.
4. Restaurants - I have two suggestions. First, the hotel has a special grill where they cook kobe beef. It is not inside the Prince Sakura, but just outside. It is expensive but if you are in Japan and can afford to drop several hundred dollars per ounce, its worth it. Second, if you walk down the hill and to the left, and walk for 2 minutes and go down the steps. There is a Thai restaurant. It was the best thai food you will ever eat, except maybe outside of Thailand.
5. The views. You have a koi pond, a temple/mansion and the Tokyo skyline.
6. Clean rooms. This was the cleanest hotel room and lobby of all the six hotels we stated in.

Negatives:
1. The hotel halls were dirty. Not a big deal but when you have an amazing hotel lobby and then the halls you walk down look drab, you expect your room to be disgusting.
2. The hotel is on top of a hill. When you walk for 12 hours and get home the last thing you want is to climb a hill, but its the trade off you pay for the view.

We were shocked how dirty the carpet in our room was when we checked in, especially with all the positive reviews on Tripadvisor. We asked the front desk to do somethign about it and nothing happened. It was a pink carpet with large darke spots in lots of places, as well as a general layer of grime. If it had not been for this i would have given the hotel 4/5.

They are critically understaffed (waited 5 minutes on the phone before bell captain picked up), but for the money we were not expecting more.

Our room was large and the bathroom was nice and clean.

Walk about 7 minutes to the train station.
