“Impressed with high level of service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

We stayed at the hotel during the busy Sakura season weekend.

The front desk staff was helpful and accommodated our request for early check in. We arrived at the hotel at 6am plus and went sightseeing. Front desk staff asked us to return at 10am but when our room was not ready, the hotel kindly arranged for a vacant room for us to shower and rest until our room was ready at about 11am-12pm.

We had lunch at Pierre Gagnaire and it was good experience. The food was delicious and the set menu was affordable. We were seated by the window and had great views of Tokyo.

Our room was clean and comfortable. The size of the room was spacious for 2 people.

The location of the hotel was very central and very near to the subway/train station so it was convenient to explore the city.

Finally, a big thank you to Ms. Miho from Concierge for helping us to book a tour last minute. All the day tours from Tokyo were fully booked but she managed to find a day tour for us.

We will definitely stay at the hotel again if we return to Tokyo in the future.

Arrived early for check-in, about 11am, they promised my room would be ready for 1pm. After having a coffee I strolled up to the desk at 1pm & the desk clerk recognised me & said your room is now ready & we have upgraded you.

The buffet restaurant served a very good variety of food, Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Malaysian & European. The food was excellent along with the service. However the beer was expensive 1,100 Yen for 330ml draught. ( very close to the hotel there are 3 local supermarkets where you can but beer for a fraction of that price).

Breakfast has an excellent selection of food. Again Japanese & western. The service is fast & efficient even at busy periods. A pot of coffee turns up almost as soon as you sit down.

The hotel room was very nice, good desk & plenty of sockets for charging. The WiFi was very fast 13Mb download, 14Mb upload 17ms Ping. No problem with Skype.

The airport limousine bus stops at this hotel. Again a very good efficient service 3,100 Yen each way to Narita.

Concierge Ymke Simmons is an absolute dream who provided exceptional service. We will fondly remember her many excellent recommendations and the wonderful experiences we had visiting them. Ms. Momoi is great too.

Great & Friendly People of Japan there is no doubt in that if I say it!
Impressive how they conduct themselves in congested areas & guve way to all in a polite manner. Not a very common thing in many big cities.
Very organisesd infrastructure & a great place to learn manners!
Tasty Sushi where ever you go.

Room Tip: very clean hotel

For a 5 star hotel, the room is normal with a generous bathroom. Housekeeping service was fast when we asked for an extra bed and extra drinking water.
Front Office staff took a very long time to solve our bed arrangement problem when we arrived. We asked for twin beds but they arranged a king bed. Problem-solving skills of the staff is mediocre.
Concierge tried to help me with my mobile phone docomo SIM card issue but could not (I do not blame her but wished she could have directed me to somewhere who could).
The hotel is located near roppongi hills where there are many nice international name restaurant.

My company booked a block of rooms for us here. Out Tokyo office is in the Ark Hills tower next door. We had three days to ourselves so I can review the Hotel from both a tourist and business perspective.

The service is very good. On par with the previous InterContinental I've stayed at. We arrived at 5am and they accommodated early check in for us. Early checkin was priced almost a much as an additional nights stay. Breakfast is good and almost identical to the breakfast buffet at the JW Marriot in Seoul. Very good food that caters to almost all people. Everything from an omelette station, to shumai, to curries. Must be standard fair in asian business hotels.

The rooms are on the small side. It's not so much a problem, except for the bathroom. I was ok, but if you are a big American guy, you might feel cramped. The desk is sufficient for getting work done. The gym facilities are not very large. The pools was not open in May. The locker room facilities were clean and looked brand new. I was able to use the gym showers after checkout and before my late night flight out of Tokyo.

The location is perfect for business travelers in the area. Close proximity to the major office buildings great access to the subway system. As a tourist you may want to be more in the heart of Ginza, Shinjuku, or other district. The pro is this location is very central to all districts. You will just have to take a taxi or train to almost everywhere you want to go. Ginza is a 15min train ride away. Shinjuku, a 15 min taxi ride away. Keep in mind Taxi's are very expensive in Tokyo- at least in comparison to New York City or San Francisco.

The concierge was very helpful and clear in their direction. They suggested some great restaurants and had great info regarding sumo, the fish market and other activities. They were able to get us a last minute reservation for Sushi at Kyubey. It was very good and highly recommended.

Lastly they were very accommodating with a late checkout. I was stuck in a Taxi in traffic on the way back to the hotel. I was either going to miss checkout time or miss our very expensive reservation at Kyubey. They understood the situation after explanation and gave me a few extra hours. This is not something I would count on as they did it as a favor at the time. It was greatly appreciated.

This was my second stay at an InterContinental. My stays were pleasant and consistent and will definitely stay with them again in any other region.

we choose this hotel because it was close to our business appointment. At the Intercontinental chain I am Ambassador Platinum member. That means you are regular guest in this chain. They promise a lot: separate check in (no one there); newspaper (did not come) etc. etc.

We complained about the way the hotel as well as the people in the restaurant treat us and after long discussions they gave is a bigger room as compensation. Why: do what you promise then you don't need to compensate.
