“Great Location But Not The Best Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

This hotel was in a fantastic location at the heart of Tokyo, particularly if you want an evening out. The rooms are a good size, and clean and tidy as you would expect. My one major gripe is that for an expensive hotel the charges for WiFi are horrendous - we were offered the equivalent of £20 for 2 hours of internet access in the lobby area, which is beyond ridiculous, as it turned out it was a nice excuse to ignore the emails for an evening!! The lobby and reception areas were very impressive, and the bar at the top floor was worth visiting as the views were fantastic and there was a 'happy hour' promotion between 5 and 8pm when we visited meaning the drinks were reasonably priced. Breakfast was also very good, and all in all a good stay but perhaps just lacking the wow factor for the price...

location is great as other fellow travellers have commented, i want to concentrate on reviewing the rooms. we stayed in the standard room as well as the upgraded room so can review both quite objectively.

the standard room is dated, very 80s and in need of facelifts (reminds me of rooms in china from that era?). the decor is really dark and the bathroom is really old. don't get me wrong, it's still comfy, but i think it will benefit from renovation, especially since it's a 4 star hotel so i expected more. personally i don't think the rate i was charged for this room was justifiable for the quality.

the upgraded room is more like a standard 4 star hotel, and with one of the those bathrooms that you can see into from the room (i know some people hate those bathrooms hence i am mentioning it here). it has the japanese style toilet, which the standard rooms don't have, and the room's a lot brighter. i would have expected the rate i was charged at for the standard room to be more like this.

the breakfast was great. i managed to get a package deal so the breakfast comes free, but i have heard that the breakfast is quite expensive.

Tip: if u go across to the next building (through a bridge on 3/4th floor) there are quite a few places to eat. haven't had anything there so i don't know the quality of the restaurants. however, i recommend that massage place in the complex, it's really good (u know it's good as asahi tv's office is on the other side of the complex). i got a special deal and it was 12000 yen for 2 hours, which i think was pretty decent.

Room Tip: if u are a non-smoker and hates the smell as much as i do, u MUST get a non-smoking room. the smells...

Thank you for staying with us and taking time to provide feedback. At the hotel we have three levels of accommodation Classic, Executive Deluxe and Club. The guest could chose the type and also could add the Club Lounge access with additional charge. Interesting that you view a 12,000 yen massage "decent" though our hotel expensive in particular our breakfast.

Arrived at the hotel after a long trip from the UK via Amsterdam. We were taken to the priority club check in desk. We had two bookings as we had paid for a king room on the first night and used 100, 000 points to book the following two nights. The receptionist said we would have to change rooms after the first night as we had used points for the remainder of the booking and this meant a standard room not a king. I argued this was ridiculous as we were platinum members and would expect an upgrade on the room - as a standard perk so changing rooms was completely unreasonable especially at a rate of 50,000 points per night. I was told that they were doing me a favour checking me in at 1pm instead of 3pm when as a platinum member this would be standard practice. Resolution required me asking for a manager and then common sense prevailed allowing us to stay in the same room for all 3 nights whilst waving under my nose the priority clubs highlighted rules for standard rooms or reward bookings. Bottom line - this hotel gives no room upgrades, no club access and no recognition of your platinum status! Would not recommend for platinum members!
Concierge were outstanding they were the best part of the stay.

Thank-you for your feedback and for your loyalty to Priority Club rewards. As you are aware PCR rewards program does not include upgrade when redeeming points. We do hope that this clarifies any misunderstanding.

First off – We are budget travelers and stayed one night at this high end hotel paid for with reward points. Beware all you budget minded travelers, the hotel and its services are expensive. Example: 100 yen per 5 minutes of internet access at the Business Center.

We stay at ANA properties in Japan whenever possible. We love the hotels and consistent 5 Star staff and service. It is a beautiful hotel located in an ideal location. Subway is a few minutes away so getting around is extremely easy. From check-in to check-out the level of service from the staff was 5 stars. My wife is Japanese so she took care of everything. Our accommodation was a standard room (see attached pictures) located on the 24th floor with a view of the Tokyo Tower and Hotel Okura (Stayed there in 1983 as part of the Asst Sec of Defense party). The room in a high end hotel such as this is small by western standards but it was quit nice for Japan. We did not eat in the Hotel but rather hit the Convenience stores for breakfast and the local blue collar joints for lunch and dinner.

Beautiful hotel, Superb Service and Staff!

Fabulous view for Tokyo skyline. Comfortable setting and romantic. Beware of crazy rules on happy hour. And the female wait staff with a huge attitude. Ordered a rum and coke which was a happy hour item. But was told since I requested diet coke vs regular coke it was full price! Really? Upon check out I requested a comment card. Front desk had no comment cards and handed me a piece of paper. Really?

Will drink my rum and diet coke at the Hyatt next business trip.

Thank you for staying with us. Upon investigation, there seems to be some misunderstanding of our happy hour. We do not differ in price between coke and diet coke. Simply we do differ in pricing before, during & after prescribe happy hour set times which appears to be the case. Thank you again.

It was a good decision choosing this hotel, strategically located at the heart of Tokyo, two subway lines and everywhere is just a taxi away (famous places and landmarks) not far so its inexpensive...diverse food and restaurants within the hotel complex, michelin grade resto as well..and the service wow! its customer delight... can communicate well in English, can arrange your itinerary, plan your vacation and rescue you in stressful situation while travelling...

Room Tip: higher rooms commands a great view of the city...

This was a great place to base ourselves whilst visiting Tokyo - the sights and attractions of Tokyo are quite spread out but this hotel is located next to a subway station so we found it very easy to get around. Taxis in Tokyo are very expensive so the proximity to transport is a big plus. The hotel itself is beautiful, with comfortable rooms and good food. The service we received was excellent. I didn't like the pillows much but they seem to be an Intercontinental standard - they are extremely soft. The hotel offers a reasonably priced airport transfer service which was helpful for us too.
