“Total Pakage”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2014

We dinned there twice on our stay at the Grand Hyatt. We went back because it was so good the first time. They speak English very well, but the food speaks the most. So much fun watching the art of the chefs in front of you. Food is so fresh, but you must have the Kobe Beef. There is American Kobe and then there is Japanese Kobe.. No comparison ! This is a must try restaurant in Roppongi Hill as there are 1000's to choose from

“Great Teppanyaki”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2013

Fantastic lunch. Good selection of menus to fit your budget. Very nicely prepared, excellent quality ingredients and very good service. Only slight disappointment was the dessert, which was only average, but not really what you come here for.

“Teppanyaki with a Difference”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2013

The Keyakizaka at the Grand Hyatt in Tokyo professes to be a Teppanyaki restaurant and it is one with subtle innovations. The western influence in the scheme of things is clearly visible. However, the dishes are to my liking and I compliment the hotel for such innovations. You can see the ingredients comprising a vast range of global choices and let the chef know your selections and the food is served after preparation in front of you. That day there was a beef special and I enjoyed the wagyu beef with vegetables as well as snow crab spring rolls cooked on the grill and served with salad and also chose my favorite wine to wash down the beef. The chefs are very accommodative and look after even the smallest of your requirement. The ambience makes the food taste that much better. If in a group of five opt for private dining.

“Disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

Had dinner here after reading so many good things about the place, but left disappointed...

Firstly, the course dinner wasn't very Japanese... Smoked salmon, even if pretty to watch them smoke the fish in front of you, isn't a very Japanese dish.. and neither is quiche.. Not withstanding the fact that I was expecting a "more traditional Teppanyaki" dinner, the irony to me was that the non-Japanese items were better executed than the Japanese ones...

The fish in a cream sauce (forgot name of dish) was in fact excellent! But both the beef items I felt were quite tasteless, as was the garlic-fried rice...

Expensive meal that didn't make my mark, coupled with an expensive Wine List...

“Top Notch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

First time in Tokyo so have little to compare it to here, but the food was deliciious. I had the "A" menu (the least expensive), and each course was terrific. Tuna, a delicious white fish, sirloin - all great. I don't generally like miso soup that much, but this one was really good. And then the clafoutis for desert, with vanilla ice cream on top, was the best of all. Worth going for that alone. And having everything prepared right in front of you by a friendly chef is fun. As others have said, it's not easy to find. It's on the fourth floor in the Grand Hyatt. Ask in the lobby how to get to it. And make sure you don't have a low limit on your credit card. It is not inexpensive.
