“Classic Elegance near Tokyo Station”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

You can't beat the location, service or 5-star comfort of this hotel. It is modern, has beautiful views and the MOTO concierge is fantastic. They helped us figure out our trip -- over e-mail before we arrived -- and offered impeccable service when we were there. Our entire experience was fantastic -- they beat expectations when it came to luxury and service.

The rooms are well appointed, all with great views. We had a Mt. Fuji view -- but arrived late at night on the clear day and the fog prevented us from seeing it while we were there, but the view was lovely regardless. The beds are dreamy and the rooms are spacious and efficient.

The area is more "downtown" business feeling -- but you can walk (or quickly cab) to the train station which will take you anywhere you want to go in Tokyo or the rest of Japan. This was particularly useful as we took a day trip to Nagano.

“Palace in the Sky”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2013

Service is sensational. When you arrive at the ground floor level, the staff in the 38th floor reception area are immediately on alert to welcome you to the hotel. There was a genuine warmth and empathy emanating from the young woman who welcomed me at the entrance and literally whisked me up to the top floor. And the panoramic view of Tokyo from behind the back of the check-in area is "sharp intake of breath" inducing, it is so eye-catching and spectacular.

I booked a Grand King Room on the 35th floor. It was one of the most serene habitats I have ever experienced. Apart from the panoramic view from the floor to ceiling windows, the bamboo floors coupled with the comfortable floor mats and the capacious extra-large bed put me in a "Japanese state-of-mind". I felt like I was a shogun (at least for two days!). The hotel also has a number of Michelin-starred establishments, two of which will serve food (at not too exorbitant prices) directly to your room. There's also a Japanese-style bathroom to die for, divided into separate compartments encapsulating a sunken bath, a wet room with a shower, a separate wc and sink area (with all the usual high end toiletries).

For social interaction, it's difficult to beat the bar of the hotel on a weekend night. If you sit at the bar, you can watch the bar tenders mix taste-filled cocktails with great style and brio. Or, if you are in a romantic mood, you can adjourn to the banquettes at the back of the bar, where you can sit with your loved one/hot date and take in the amazing panoramic view of Tokyo, buzzing with life, hundreds of feet below you.

Admittedly, this hotel set me back about Euro 1,200 for two nights there. But it was worth every single cent of my expenditure. An outstanding place.

Room Tip: It's worth spending Euro 100 extra to get yourself a Grand King room.

“The BEST hotel experience we have ever had!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

We had high expectations for this hotel having been familiar with Boston's Mandarin Oriental and every single expectation we had was exceeded. This being our first time in Japan we were amazed at the hospitality of the Japanese people, but the staff at this hotel took it to a new level. Every single interaction we had with the staff was genuine, extremely friendly, and exemplifies the best service we have ever received anywhere. The room was glorious... extremely comfortable, with all the amenities you would expect from a 5 star hotel plus a few you wouldn't. The view looking over East Tokyo was stunning, and despite being in the middle of the city only steps from a metro station it was unbelievably quiet. We also ate at one of the restaurants after checking in and that experience was equally amazing. My only regret is not booking far enough in advance to have stayed for the entire duration of our trip as they were fully booked for the weekend, and understandably so. If there was a way to score extra credit on tripadvisor, this hotel would be the one to get it.

This hotel is worth every penny and then some. From the friendly staff to the amazing rooms and the views ... It was a perfect stay! We dined at Sense and had the Peking duck 3 ways ... Every course was perfect, and some were prepared table side!

“OMG amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2013

We stayed here 1night, 2 ppl. Omg this hotel is fab! We arrived at the downstairs lobby and the doors were opened for us, bags taken off us, escorted to the lift and taken to reception on the 38th floor. We didn't even see our bags as they were taken st8 to the room while we checked in. The checkin was fab they couldn't do enough for us and were very friendly.

The checkin staff accompanied us to our room after asking if it was ok, we got to our room on the 31st floor and the view was amazing, best view in tokyo! The staff showed us around the room and asked us if we wanted a welcome drink which we gladly accepted, we was also asked if wanted transport for the following day when we needed to get to the airport which was so nice to ask.

The bed was so comfy, the bathroom was clean and contemporary...the room was really nice! Couldn't of asked for more.

My partner went to the gym a few times and he said he loved it as staff would come round and ask if he wanted water or a towel, so he was really impressed! I wanted to use the jacuzzi but you had to pay for it which was a bit silly to say you pay £300 upwards for the room, doesn't matter weather it's part of the spa or not. So I didn't bother in the end.

The service at the hotel was amazing! U can't asked for more, I want a residence here. Hmmm wishful thoughts!

The location of the hotel was really good literally has a tube station in the same building, there is a really good department store 2 mins walk also, only problem what we found we couldn't find any western restaurants around!

We checked out and spoke to a lady in the lift who must have been finishing work at the mandarin and we got talking to here and she even knew where we were travelling to next! Omg amazing! Such a fab team.

Overall I would stay here again if I could afford it lol, prices are a bit high which I know is due to the service and High standards of the hotel but I sure if they do something to help this more ppl will get to see this fantastic hotel! 2nd best hotel I ever stayed in.

Fab! You couldn't fault anything apart from the charges for the jacuzzi and sauna.
