“Incredible 3*** Michelin sushi experience”

Visited Sushi Yoshitake while in Japan and found it excellent. All aspects of the experience are top-class.

The restaurant consists of a simple 7-seater counter so you are directly in front of Chef Yoshitake. Watching the food being prepared was an experience and the atmosphere is quite relaxed.

We were served approx 20 separate courses. The variety if dishes flowed brilliantly with highlights being the abalone with abalone liver, seared bonito and o-toro fatty tuna. Our total bill was a little over 55,000¥ - worth it for a special occasion or to experience this top-level work. A very special experience.

“Recommend for all foreigners (who speak English or Japanese)”

Highly recommend this sushi restaurant for foreigners. I visited this restaurant 5-6 times and always saw guests from countries outside of Japan (I am Japanese).
Not all topnotch sushi restaurant will be friendly to tourists, but Sushi Yoshitake will never disappoint you at all. According to Mr Yoshitake, they also have sister restaurant in Hong Kong which uses the same stuff and cooking equipment, but the dinner course costs higher in Hong Kong due to the shipping costs. In Tokyo, the dinner course per person (excluding drinks) costs 25,000 yen + plus tax. Sushi Yoshitake uses "Akazu (red vinegar)" with the rice in common with topnoch sushi restaurant in Tokyo. This is really good, but some may find this taste unusual, because cheap sushi will never use this Akazu with rice. Just for your reference.

“AMAZING !”

I tried this restaurant in April with 2 friends: during our first visit to Japan we wanted to experience a 3 star sushi restaurant. Also if a bit skeptical about spending a lot for some sushi we decided to book Sushi Yoshitake as a second option after trying Jiro, where we couldn't find place.

The sushi bar is located on the 3d floor of a building in the Ginza area: it has 2 rooms, one with 6 seats and one with 3. The chairs are arranged around a counter, to be able to watch the chefs preparing the sushi. We were seated in the smaller room and were served not by Yoshitake himself, but the other sushi master was very kind and skilled.

The meal began with some sashimi:
- miniature squid with miso mustard and a few little vegetables: excellent combination.
- octopus: the texture was superb
- red snapper: best I had, nice texture and taste
- abalone with little sauce of its liver: one of the best "dishes" i had in my entire life
- bonito with soy sauce: literally melted in our mouth
- crab which was probably the less interestig of the sashimis' still being delicious

Then we switched to sushi. The rice is body temperature, prepared with red vinegar: wasabi and additional dressing is applied to each piece of sushi by the master and we had a little amount of pickled ginger on our plate (both wasabi and ginger were fresh and on a total different level than what we are used in the rest of the world).

The sushi courses:
- squid, which had been finely cut by the chef: extremely tender and delicate
- snapper: again of an incredible quality
- ay fish (white fish): very delicate
- tuna: we had the fatty o-toro, with a seriously superb taste
- a fish of the sardine family: absolutely stunning texture and flavor
- baby snapper: superb
- mackerel: another chance to try something that normally doesn't taste so good.
- some kind of shell: very particular wit a pretty strong taste
- sea urchin roll: the sea urchin was very creamy with a delicious taste, another masterpiece.
- then a couple of sushi with cooked fish: prawn (way better than in a western sushi restaurants) and an eel marinated in soya sauce also very tasty .
- last we had a bigger tuna roll which was excellent.
We also asked for an extra round which they, very kindly, gave us letting us decide which sushi.
The meal concluded with a couple of little cubes of baked egg custard and a green tea.

We had a few beers each (only option with sake) and ended up spending around 200 euro each.
We all thought the experience was well worth the price: nice to see the master preparing the food in front of you, quite and relaxing atmosphere and absolutely stunning and tasty food.
On top, the whole dinner lasted longer than 1 and a half our giving as plenty of time to enjoy / comment / discuss about the experience. This is way different than at Jiro where you are in and out in 45 minutes (spending a bit more).

Over all if you have the chance and you want to try a sushi experience i totally recommend this restaurant.

“Words Cannot Describe”

Words cannot describe the experience at Sushi Yoshitake. Definitely a splurge but worth the price tag for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Everything was top notch - service, food, ambiance - but what I didn't expect was how friendly (and at sometimes goofy) Chef Yoshitake can be. He had us laughing between bites of the best fish I'll probably ever taste.

“One of the best sushi in the world ”

This restaurant is located in ginza tokyo with only 6 seaters the ambirnt of the restaurant is pretty chill out and relaxing the good thing is it is enlist friendly , the chef choose the best ingredients to make every dishes he serves us and his skill is extremely outstanding this every piece of sushi he made is heavenly , on the other hand the chef is very friendly and interact with his customer after the service this place is no doubt tht it warned 3 stars michilin they r deserved it
