Ukaitei Ginza provided a superb dinner. My friend and I selected the mid-range menu and, although being told that one of the shell fish courses was not available, the restaurant staff was able to replace it with a better option. And then the show began.
We had the honor of being served by Maestro chef Junichi Taniwaki, who displayed the reason why he has earned his Maestro title.
The dinner was magnificent and combined European flavors with Japanese cuisine. It was a feast and we were honored with the opportunity of witnessing a unique Tepanyaki culinary show. The interior decoration was a little bit over the top but I understand the reason why they have it decorated in this manner.
Ukatei has set the benchmark in Tepanyaki cuisine and it will definitively ruin the rest of the Tepanyaki restaurants I will visit, as I think it is unbeatable in this field.
