“Small but wonderful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

The sushi here is really good and served in a wonderful manner. It is expensive but then it is a 2 star Michelin restaurant so you cannot expect anything less. Apart from the price I really cannot fault anything else about it. A wonderful experience.

“Every bite a taste sensation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

We live in Asia and are sushi aficionados. We went to Sushi Kanesaka as we were told it is the renowned artist Murakami's favorite, and we were not at all disappointed. Words cannot describe the sensory pleasure of each bite -- but though all sashimi and sushi, each bite was distinctive and delicious beyond words. Our dinner menu was 30,000 yen a head which is a bit over the top, but so worth it! It is a bit hard to find, but get the hotel to map it out for you. A real treasure hunt and treasure you will find!

“Every Bite = Heaven”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I chose to have an early dinner here at 6pm. I have been eating sushi and sashimi in the USA in the east coast and in CA in the west coast and simply nothing comes close to the quality, attention to detail, and service of Chef Kanesaka. We were served by him, and the first thing you notice is that he's so young... but he follows through despite this. We opted for the 30,000 per head which included whatever drink we wanted in this case sake. Kanesaka masterfully orchestrated the entire meal watching carefully or pace of eating and serving everything just in time and at the perfect temperature. This is the one we will go back to again and again for many years to come.

“Casual excellence”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

We where greeted in a more laid back manner by the chefs and so the mood was set, we felt at ease and got seated. We opted for the full omakase experience and we were not disappointed.
Sanpei san that usually works at the corner next to the opening of the restaurant speaks moderate english and we were able to ask him a few questions, we even went with him to the market the morning after. If you can't get into sushi Saito you may learn that this place (one star) and Saito (three stars) share the same suppliers and recipes so it beats me why one is better rated than the other. Anyway, If you like sharp vinegared rice, enjoy good company and good quality fish go to Kanesaka. We will definitely be back next time we visit Tokyo.

“Excellent excellent excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013

We had a wonderful meal and had chef Kanesaka serve us that night. We opted for the 30000 yen meal and it was wonderful. Flavours, presentation were just awesome. WE didn't realise this was a 2 Michelin star rated restautant. We tried Jiro at Roppongi the next day and Sushi Kanesaka wins hands down. Highly recommend this place to everyone.
