“loving the shabu shabu and the rustic cooking pot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013

Came here for lunch with my family, and opted for a Shabu shabu set lunch.

Unexpectedly good appetiser, to be exact, the tomato dish. Never been a fan of tomato before. It was simple, sweet and very very fresh.

Superb shabu shabu, the beef was sweet and succulent with an even more superb sesame sauce for dipping :)

In love with the rustic traditional shabu shabu pot, somehow (in my own scenario hahaha) it helped to enhance the flavour.

“Deliscious Food! Go for the Beef Terriyaki”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013 via mobile

Service was amazing. Food was deliscious. Teriyaki sauce was not as sweet as we r used to in the west which made it tastier for me. The portions are just right, although if u are a bug eater, u may want to order more side dishes.

“POMEGRANATE FOR THE BEST SHABU SHABU”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

Was lucky to be taken here by a close friend. The Kobe Beef is perfection and apparently as part of the process to ensure it is the best the animals are fed beer at various times. The shabu shabu is very special and ensure you place the shabu shabu in sheets like it is presented on the table into the cooking process to maximise the flavour. The sesame oil is wonderful and only enhances the flavour of the beef. I started with a tomato salad which was very good as well. Very very good with attentive service in true traditional Japanese style. Zakuro means pomegranate,

“Melt in your mouth Kobe beef shabu shabu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013 via mobile

I was brought here by senior management of a large Japanese corporation and told it serves sublime shabu shabu and they were not wrong. It's located in the basement of a building in Nihonbashi opposite Takashimaya. You'd have to look for it; it's not some place you'd stumbled into whilst looking for food.

We had a private room where you had to remove your shoes but there were chairs so we didn't have to sit on tatami mats. The Kobe beef was brought out for us to view and choose before it was sliced thinly. It was so tender and juicy it melted in my mouth. The sesame sauce for dipping the beef in was a perfect complement.

Vegetables, tofu and noodles were provided to go into the pot with the beef. There was also a small sushi platter which was the freshest raw fish I'd had, and nicely chilled and served on a bed of ice.

Service was polite and attentive. The waitress cooked the vegetables and noodles and apportioned them for everyone.

All in all a very memorable meal; I'm still thinking about the beef.
