When choosing where to stay for a week in Tokyo, I went for the structure closest to the train station, considering good reviews and budget. And I can say with no doubt that Ryumeikan is the best hotel I have ever stayed so far!
...obviously I should say what I mean with "best": there are no beautiful scenary outside the window (to be true my window had no view at all!) or no opulent hall, but Ryumeikan has what an hotel should offer:
_ first of all LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION, which is for sure a plus: 3 minutes from Tokyo station (and Chiyoda and Marunouchi subway line) and 2 minutes from Nihonbashi subway station on Ginza, Asakusa and Tozai lines...which means is the perfect starting point to explore the city and also beyond
_ second: structure itself: I booked a "forus" room: I had any kind of amenities I could have asked and the bed was great (it has a system - integrated with lights - which lulls you at nights and wakes you gently up in the morning) Useless to say that I slept really well!
_ third: service! Everything was perfectly clean, personnel was friendly and discrete, the structure was really quiet.
If I have to find a drawback, rooms are quite small, especially if you spend them a week like me, but I think is a common problem in Tokyo...
