“Wonderful choice in central Tokyo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

Excellent location, quiet, clean, a place to relax even if located in the heart of business affairs, a lot of amenities (Nespresso capsule machine included that I, as Italian, appreciated a lot!). I didn't try breakfast.

As I’m sure you’ve already read from other reviewers, the rooms are tiny—but this hotel is awesome! It is centrally located—literally a three-minute walk from Tokyo station. It is quiet and spotless with friendly and helpful staff. Add to this list of pros the price and there is no reason to look any further for your hotel needs. We didn’t try the restaurant on-site (which I believe other reviewers said was expensive), but there are so many places to eat nearby that you’ll be spoiled for choice. Our children loved all the food in the Tokyo station basement—if they had it their way we would have had all our meals there. My only complaint applies to most hotels in Japan (and Asia for that matter)--the mattress is too hard for my taste.

Great location across the road from Tokyo Station (Yaesu North Exit), where the shinkansen (bullet trains) arrive, and many metro lines run through, including the Keiyo line to Disneyland.

The hotel restaurant offers Japanese food only, but there are many other fantastic restaurants and coffee shops nearby. The Daimaru department store is located across the road at the Yaesu North exit of Tokyo Station, and has the amazing food hall in the basement as well as excellent cafes on almost every floor, and the 12th and 13th floors have numerous very good restaurants that are open until late at night.

We got interconnecting rooms, which were perfect for our family of 4. The rooms were very clean with lovely amenities, including a Nesspresso machine. The beds were very comfortable, with a choice of pillows.

An express bus for Narita (900 yen per person one-way) leaves hourly from a stop about 50 meters from the hotel door.

Room Tip: If required, ask for interconnecting rooms when booking, or send an email to their reservations team...

clean, more than acceptable. no cons.
just in front of the central station (if you get to find the correct exit)
important: there is an english pub right next door. excellent after too much miso soup and sushi.

Stayed here overnight because my connecting flight was next day. The hotel is conveniently located near Tokyo station in a recently revived business district and is about an hour train ride from Narita. Great location if you want to explore Tokyo and relatively close to the airport but don't want to be stuck in an airport hotel or an airport town like Narita. Check-in was fast and staff was helpful. I have no complains. The room and bath are small but was not surprising for Japanese standards. Very clean and comfortable. I liked the Toto toilet with heated seat and all the other cool functions that leave you squeaky clean. The tub and shower are sparkling clean. The best and nice surprise was all the amenities they provide like slippers and foot massager (most especially helpful after a long haul flight), complete set of toiletries with bath salt and sponge exfoliator, nightshirt, green tea and hot water heater, city map with useful Japanese words. The bed was firm and comfortable and they provide rice pillows and regular pillows and fluffy down comforter.

It was truly a comfortable and relaxing stay and after a long haul flight I felt refreshed and ready for my connecting flight next day.

Great value for money relative to more expensive Tokyo hotels. Thumbs up and highly recommend!

The Rymeikan hotel is a short stroll fron the Tokyo central train station. The rooms are clean & tidy. The hotel lobby is in the 15th floor along with a japanese resturant . Close by is the Excelsior coffee shop not a bad place to sit down and organise your day. The room was quite cool ( or not ) having a port hole from the main room looking into the bath room ( high up the wall for the not so extroverted), the toilet has the bideau functions attached also. Room was warm & plenty of hot water. Great toiletries tray provided along with robes & slipers. This was vlaue for money ( last minute booking ), and is perfectly located for use of the Tokyo underground rail system. Also the local food eateries are great if you want to have a short stroll from the hotel.
Thanks Hotel Ryumeikan Tokyo
