Let's be honest here... when you go to these themed restaurants you go for the theme rather than the food. If you wanted the best food you would go to a Zagat restaurant.
The food at Alice is very nice but it's average on the whole. You wont go home raving about the food but you probably wont have a complaint either. The menu is essentially pasta and pizza to start and the desserts were rolled cake, parfait, brownie and ice cream. I can say that the desserts are actually very nice there though. The cocktails there were also fairly reasonably priced for Tokyo.
The decoration is very impressive. All of the waitresses are wonderfully presented and so polite and the hostess has a fantastic mad hatter costume. It's the little details like this as well as the clock plates, the book passageway 'rabbit hole' that make a place like this.
While this is not a maid cafe - you pay for entry in the same way that you would there. When we paid it was 600yen each for two hours. You will then also pay 10% on the total of your bill. When you are sat down you are given a small bowl of something or other (when we went it was these delicious pumpkin baked goods as it was close to Halloween but I know it has been dried fruit in the past) which you will then be charged for. The appetisers are all around 700yen, the entrees are all around 900yen and the desserts are all around 500-800yen. The soft drinks are 500yen and the cocktails are between 700-900yen.
For the two of us to eat entrees, desserts and soft drinks it came to 5500yen with everything included which seemed pretty reasonable for such an interesting experience.
