“Great sushi at terrific prices”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2012

Our favourite place for sushi is the branch in the Ginza corridor, easy access from Shimbashi station and shopping in Ginza. There is always a line so we avoid the popular times. We go either early or late, we always check the lines as sometimes the wait was not very long even in busy times. The menus are in English with pictures, there are a few staff there that speak English so it's never a problem ordering. The set specials are in Japansese but there is the "display" plate out the front. We find the portions are very generous and fish very fresh. I brought my family here several times and they loved it.
We don't live in Japan anymore but make sure we eat here everytime we go back to visit.

“World class sushi that won't break the bank”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2012 via mobile

This is the place for sushi if you are in Hibiya/ginza area. The sushi is amazing at the price that is offered. Be ready for at least a 30 min queue. If you are not fussy on where you seat, the queue time gets a bit shorter. But the atmosphere is of course at the sushi bar. Last call for orders is at 9:30pm.

“Busy as the fish market”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2012 via mobile

We always see a long queue whenever we past by the place so we decided to give the place a try on our last day.
It's hustle butsle as you stepped into the restaurant, the sushi counter has at least 4 sushi chefs, I kind of like it as it was for lunch and I did not expect it to be quiet.
The sushis are fresh and fish is generous; we shared a sushi moriawase and had extra order of the aburi set and anako sushi.

Good place for a quick meal. You have to finish fast; the service was fast anyway as the are cinstantll a queue outside. Good quality and good value sushis.

The noice reminded me of a typical fish market. A place we will go back to.

“Best value for money considering quality vs price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2012 via mobile

Been here 3 times in 2 weeks, I usually visit the Shibuya branch but Ginza is nearer now. Be prepared to wait, even at 4pm on Saturday there is a long line. The fish and ingredients here is always fresh, as all the Midori branches seem to be so you can never go too wrong. Their sets are worth it. I usually sit at the counter and have whatever the chef recommends.

While the ingredients are consistent, some of the sushi chefs are not, my regular chef is amazing and anything he makes or recommends is awesome. I left him decide if each piece is to be eaten with Salt or if I am allowed to dip it in soy. Once though I had a horrible young punk and... After a few pieces we decided to leave.

“Simply the best restaurant in Tokyo”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2012

This is Midori Sushi right? If so, it is simply the best restaurant in Tokyo. The long line is justified. Once instead, your food comes quickly and the service is impeccable. The staff remembers every little request. DH likes the sake selection. The kids like how their food is served on fancy plates even if they order ala carte. Everything in the Omakase is superior quality. But we usually order by the piece which is not expensive either.

One unusual item is "wasabi leaf" which is salty and VERY spicy. But you order it with a plain cucumber roll and eat them together. The balance is exquisite. It is addictive.

We always order multiples of the aburi (flame blazed). The salmon and cheese, the smoky engawa are all amazing. In fact, you can request any sushi to be torched.

Non-sushi items are also superb. The crab miso salad is a must. The binta yaki and the sasae are also must order for our family.

There are soups on the menu but you should know that a free bowl of ara giru, fish bone soup, is given to everyone. The flavor is rich. They serve it at the end of the meal or anytime if you ask for it.
