“Quiet hotel in business area, close to subway”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

We stayed here for 2 nights in a Healing room in Sept 2012. It's a bit of a walk from Tokyo, about 15 min, but nothing too strenuous. The foyer is nice and looks fairly new compared to rest of the hotel. We arrived at 9am and were told that check in is 3pm and that we had to wait so we went out for a wander. When we came back at 1pm there were new people at reception and they got us a room straight away! The room is fairly small with a bed just big enough for 2, though clean and good amenities. The foot massager was a lot of fun to play with, especially after full days of sightseeing. Breakfast was good, I liked the hot food, perfectly boiled eggs and self-made toast. Local restaurants nearby are great, feels un-touristy and real Japanese. Hatchobori station was very close and once you're in the subway you can go anywhere in Tokyo. Overall a good hotel for the price, I would stay here again.

Room Tip: It's a generally quiet area so I think all rooms would be quiet. The Healing room was worth the...

This hotel is not too far from Tokyo main train station, so is a good point to start exploring the city. The rooms are really small (I could barely open my luggage), but the ensuite bath room is rather big (by Japanese standards) and the fornitures and the hotel in general are elegant and well maintained. Everything is also perfectly clean.
A buffet breakfast is included, but it's nothing special.

My husband & I stayed 3 nights at this hotel in May 2012 during our 3 week trip to Japan. The hotel is clean and has all facilities you can expect from a business hotel. Location is not very convenient if you want to do sightseeing, it is a 15 minutes walk (fast tempo) to Tokyo station and it takes ages by metro to get to more central districts, which was really annoying. For being more mobile, a hotel located along the JR Loopline (covered by Japan Railpass) is much more convenient and saves quite some money. The reception at the hotel was polite, but hardly anyone spoke any English, which made it challenging to obtain any relevant information. There was no Wifi at the hotel, but for those with a laptop a cable internet was availiable in every room. There is also a computer in the lobby & you can internet free of charge. The most dissapointing thing was breakfast, which I found just horrible. Adding to that all plates & cups were made of plastic, Not something you would expect from a hotel in this price range. The choice of food, especially for vegans was really limited, another min point for this hotel. All this said, the rooms were of a relatively good size and very clean. Will not stay here again as a tourist, but for a business stay it is an OK choice.

Within 5 mins walk from Tozai and Hibiya subway lines and less than a 10 mins walk from Tokyo Station, Hotel Villa Fontaine is a great fine. The modern hotel is a good bargain with Japan-size rooms. Extremely clean, free breakfast and good staff. Excellent in its class.

Good and friendly service. Tiny rooms, not advisable for 2 people. Rock hard beds and terrible pillows. Very close to the tokyo station on foot but not if you are carrying luggage.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2011

I stayed at this hotel for six nights in September 2011. On the whole, I found it to be comfortable, but a bit lacking in character. This is not unexpected for a hotel that caters mainly to visiting businesspeople.

I stayed in a single room that was fairly small, but adequate for my needs. The room was fairly well equipped. There was a tiny fridge in one of the cupboards, which was convenient for storing drinks. The bathroom had a variety of convenience products (like shampoo, soap, razor, etc.) in case one forgot these items at home. The services offered by the hotel were fairly impressive. Aside from the free breakfast, which after six days got a little tiresome, I didn't really make use of the many services offered by hotel. The hotel can arrange for massages and loaner laptop computers, among other things. On the whole, I felt that I got pretty good value for cost of the room, given the location.

This hotel is located conveniently close to JR Hatchobori Station and Hatchobori Metro Station. Walking to Tokyo Station is a bit of a hike. There are many food options in the area on week nights, but there isn't a whole lot open on the weekends when most of the visiting businesspeople will have gone home. Don't expect much of a nightlife around here, but that's good if you want to sleep soundly. Of course, more lively locales are just a short subway or train ride away.

We were first timers to Tokyo, and conscious of costs. We researched extensively. This hotel is located in a quiet street in central Tokyo, conveniently located near 2 subway stations, making exploring the city easy. Suitable for leisure or business stays. Plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby as well. Hotel provided a healthy breakfast. The rooms were on the small side, but modern, clean and comfortable. Laundry a bonus. Staff were lovely and helpful and on a few occasions, went out of their way to find out information for us.
