“Stylish hotel & excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2010

+ Location: Close to Ginza street, good view from the hotel's lobby
+ Welcome & check in: friendly, fast
+ Concierge: even bought baseball tickets for us
+ Room: small, but stylish

- Bed: was hard (but typical for Japan)
- Expensive bar & restaurant (but normal due to exchange rate)

We stayed at the Mitsui Garden Hotel in Ginza for 5 nights July 2010 and LOVED it - the room was a superior twin but was pretty small... the beds were big singles but there wasn't much room for anything else! The wardrobe was tiny, no drawers and barely room to store our case BUT there was an inroom safe, free bottles of water, great bathroom product, bath and shower, ultra comfy beds and pillows, the staff were ultra friendly and the fitout was amazing. Beautiful furniture and art, super clean and well presented. We were considering taking our son with us - thankfully we didn't as we wouldn't have fitted in the room.
The location was perfect - close to Ginza and train stations but very quiet and gorgeous views from our room.
The only but was that we were booked in a superior twin room as my partner was there on business - this is a 2 person room - when we arrived from NZ to check in at the hotel we were told that there was an extra charge for me (the 2nd person)... on the site it says the room rate is for 2 but they would not budge so we had to pay an additional 25,000 yen for me to stay... this was after returning my breakfast vouchers to try and save some more money! However if you clarify the charge before you arrive it is a really great place to stay and it was relaxing and lovely to return to after a hard days shopping and sightseeing in the heat! Oh and a fitness room would be brilliant!

This is a small hotel with not much facilities or services. It is built on top of a business building. The hotel is located at a great location, less than 10 mins walk to Tsukiji fish market, close to most ginza shopping area. It is closer to the JR shimbashi station, approximately 10 mins walk. The rooms are small but it's quite big in tokyo standard. Free internet but no wifi.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights while in Tokyo. While the hotel rooms were small they were extremely clean and comfortable. The beds and pillows were amazing. The views are spectacular. We had a view of Tsukiji Fish Market. It is close to shopping, food, and the subway. If we find ourselves back in Tokyo, we will stay here. Only hiccup was extremely slow Internet connection the first afternoon.

This is a great hotel, but like most Tokyo hotels the rooms are on the small side, and there is very little storage space. Its not quite in the heart of Ginza or right next to a subway stop but its walkable. However the downside is the breakfast offering isn't great and the one dinner we had wasn't good at all.

Great location - It's in Ginza but it's not on a busy street. The staff are extremely nice and helpful. They don't speak a lot of English, but will try to help however they can. The rooms are typical petite Japanese rooms =).
