“very good to move any place to Tokyo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Grand Palace is a historical place to Korean people, because President Daejung Kim was lodged at his young age. And easy to visit any places to Tokyo by subway near by Gudansita station.

The location doesn't have much surrounding it, but if you're up for learning the subway, or taking a cab to where you want to go, it is a good hotel. The breakfast buffet caters well to both western as well as Asian pallets, and was a very decent way to begin the day. It is near to a few metro lines, which makes getting to other areas easy.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a non-smoking room if that is important to you. The smoking floors were noticeabl...

This was the first hotel we stayed in while visiting Japan. It is located in the business district of Tokyo, so it was fairly quiet during the weekend, but there were still plenty of restaurants and other businesses open. The room was extremely clean and fairly roomy, but the AC only went down to 68 degrees F, so the room felt a bit humid and warm at times. WiFi is only available in the hotel lobby, but the room does have a high speed connection. Finally, the hotel has several restaurants and spas, but lacks a fitness room. All in all, the hotel provided a very pleasant stay.

We were part of a tour group in Tokyo - there to watch the World Cup Qualifying game - Japan vs Australia and we stayed at the Grand Palace for 4 nights. It was quite a bit swankier that what we were used to. The extra cost seems to come with the size of the lobby and the number of restaurants in the hotel more than a greater quality of room and facilities. If that's what you want then this is a perfectly good choice. A buffet breakfast - foods of all sorts - was included in the tariff, which probably came to about 28,000 Y per night for a twin room.

A good location - close to a number of subway lines and a 20-30 stroll down to the Imperial Palace. The 5km running track that circles the Imperial East Garden is a great place to get your day started.

The location of the hotel is good. While not in a shopping area, there is Kudanshita subway station just down the street with three train lines that one can easily take to areas like Shinjuku and Shibuya. A short walk to the right of the station, and there is Yasakuni Shrine and Kitanomaru Park, and going through the park would take one to the Imperial Palace East Gardens. Right by the hotels are restaurants like Jonathans and Royal Host, as well as several convenience stores where we bought cheaper meals that we asked the clerks to heat up. McDonalds is also around the corner of the major intersection, where the subway station entrances are. The hotel is a pick up point for JTB Sunrise tours, and the Narita airport limousine bus stops right by the door.

The hotel room and bathroom were very clean. The décor is not modern or fancy, but it was pleasant to return to the hotel room after a tiring day. The beds were comfortable, and the room was quite large. There were three of us, and we could all move about easily. There was a small fridge, and there was free Japanese tea. There was no complimentary bottled water or coffee, though. The TV had one English language channel – CNN.

Hotel personnel were polite and efficient. They easily understood our requests (in English) and carried them out promptly.

All in all, the hotel is a good mid-range choice for those who prefer being near parks rather than near shopping areas.

I had stayed at this hotel for 2 times and enjoyed my stay.
It's close to the metro station so no worry to walk back to your room after an exhausting day.
This hotel is not fancy but has bigger room. Nice and clean.
Service is good. The surrounding area is quiet.
The only cons is no wifi..

This is not a stylish modern hotel but you will find it pleasant.
Nicely located, you can easily travel around. Rooms are correct, clean, but small. and Japanese bidets...are amazing bidets! Love it!
Internet is however not convenient as only in lobby. The staff will make its best to service you. I loved jogging around the Palace Gardens, ask the reception for a map of the jogging trails. Good choice for joggers and business travels
