“Outstanding hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

Stayed at the Palace for two nights in December and it proved a wonderful choice. It is one of the most Japanese of Tokyo's luxury hotels (compared to some of the more "internationalised" brands like Shangri La, Peninsula, Mandarin Oriental, or Park Hyatt) and in my view has some of the most prettily decorated rooms of all in a sober and classy modern ("Westernised") Japanese style.

The location is excellent, overlooking the Imperial Palace gardens and by the lovely shopping of Marunouchi, and about 10 minutes walk from Tokyo Station (Marunouchi North exit is best) and 15 from Ginza. A walk or jog in the palace gardens is a wonderful attraction in its own right!

I was staying in a balcony room, and while it was a bit cold in the winter it must be a fabulous treat when the weather is milder. The bathrooms are wonderful with the wet area (bathtub and rainshower) overlooking the bay windows and the beautiful view to the Palace gardens. The rooms are large (about 45 sq m).

Breakfast in the lobby lounge was good with excellent pastries, amazing wood-fired toasts and freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juices. The hot selection was a bit less convincing. Had lunch and dinner at both the Japanese (both general area and the rather famous sushi) and the Chinese restaurants and both were of outstanding quality. Service extremely kind and efficient, outstanding room equipment including pyjamas and enough bathroom amenities that you could probably forget your toiletry bag, etc. An excellent choice in Central Tokyo.

Room Tip: All rooms are great with lovely views.

If you can afford to stay at this hotel then you will not be disappointed. The executive room I stayed in was of the very highest standard and the service was second to none. However at over £900 per night B&B it is slightly more than I would want to pay if I was staying as a private guest.
The furnishings are excellent (as you would expect) and the executive welcome with drink and nibbles whilst being registered is a nice touch (but probably not necessary).
The Palace is very well placed for the railway station and for a walk in the Imperial gardens just across the road from the hotel. It is an ideal hotel to ease the strain of a hectic business trip.

Indeed a Palace !!! Probably among one of the best hotels.

Next to the Palace, conveniently located at walking distance to Tokyo station. Good breakfast spread - with options to side indoors or outdoors.

Rooms are very good and spacious. As we say nothing comes for free - you pay for what you get; Expensive.

a great hotel with wonderful service. Could use more restaurants near by but location next to the palace gardens was a treat. Hope next time to visit the gardens. Balcony views were marvelous. Easy check in and check out. 20 minutes to Haneda airport

I have stayed here a couple of times how and been very happy both times.
The setting is excellent very close to the Palace Gardens that are very relaxing to walk round if you have the time and ideal if you want to go for a run.
Service is first class in all bars. The lounge area serves good light meals and seems reasonably priced for Tokyo. Breakfast is what you would expect from a top hotel and offers a choice so you don't have to have the full buffet if you want a light breakfast.
The rooms are a reasonable size but not large.
The gym is ok and looks out over the palace gardens so it's a good view from the treadmill. There is also a very pleasant spa area in the gym.

I will happily continue to stay here when in Tokyo.

The hotel staff are perfectly trained and polite to a fault -- greeting you by name as you first approach reception (having been alerted by the porter who escorts you in). Rooms are comfortable and well-appointed and kitted out with every amenity. The gym was a little small but equipped with quality equipment (of course!). Did some laps in the equally small lap pool, luckily I had it all to myself. The hotel was overheated and they could save some energy by dealing down the thermostat. But a treat to stay here all the same.

The views of the Imperial palace grounds (it was cherry blossom season!) were spectacular. The gym was 24 hours and has some of the best equipment you have ever seen. Not cheap but a very good central location to see all of Toyko. Felt very pampered with amazing customer service and interesting visitors from all over the world.
