“What a view...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

We went in a relatively large number and no reservation, so we had a reasonable waiting time to be allowed in. By the way I was the only foreigner in our group, but there were mostly Japanese customers that day.
Main point was - of course - the view. Hybiya park, Imperial Palace gardens and Ginza.
On the other hand buffet was wide enough, well kept and assorted with a large choice of food. I dare to say something for all tastes.
I generally dislike buffet as they look shabby after dishes starts to be messy due to the flow of customers, but in this case I was not disappointed.
Service for drinks and coffee attenctive enough, as always is in Japan and specially at Imperial (I stepped in first time in 1974 shortly after last rebuilding, same feelings though).
A place I would be happy to return for the location and the view if not for the food (but I am not so keen on food quality in fact...)

“Go for the buffet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2012

In my opinion you should only go to this place when you feel like having buffet. They have a great buffet menu with several delicious dishes, from salad, appetizers, hot section, cold section and dessert. The view from the roof top was magnificent! The price was above average but worths every penny of it.

“Buffet Breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2011

Average selection of items for a Buffet Breakfast. I'd have liked to see a much larger selection at an Imperial Hotel restaurant.

“Great Buffet at a Restaurant With a View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2010

It was past 10am and breakfast was unavailable at the Peninsula Hotel, so the concierge told us to try the Imperial Hotel. We nearly went to the cafe on the street level until we realized that there was a restaurant on the top floor, and when we arrived we were greated by a magnificent panorama of Tokyo, a huge, multi-national buffet, great food, a lovely experience. We will return.
