“The kid in you will love this. So will the grown-up!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

The ninja experience sounded like a fun night out with a group of friends. Well, it certainly was that, and a whole lot more.

Firstly the welcome and service is as good as it gets. From the moment you arrive until you are waved off by your ninja outside the restaurant door, you are made to feel special and pampered. Service is super-efficient and nothing seems to be too much trouble.

The theme is very well incorporated, without it feeling like a childish Disney experience. We were led thought a dark and "dangerous" maze to our private ninja "cabin", and although the restaurant was packed, we always had the impression that every member of staff was completely focused on the well-being and enjoyment of our group of ninja.

The food looked and tasted delicious! In fact, this may just be the best meal I had during this particular trip to Tokyo. We chose one of the menu's and made some last-minute changes to accommodate dietry requirements. This was no problem for the kitchen, and the substitute dishes was of the same high quality as the menu dishes. Although portions are small, there were so many courses that we were very well satisfied by the end of the meal.

We indulged in some cocktails, and they are all highly recommended. They not only looked pretty, but also tasted divine.

Two nice touches were the soup dish that was prepared by our ninja at the table and the magic show by the "master" ninja. This is the level of attention to detail that makes this an exceptional restaurant experience.

This may not be the cheapest evening out in Tokyo, but it certainly is worth every yen. Highly recommended.

Oh, and do make reservations to avoid disappointment.

“Excellent food and service. The highlight of our trip to Tokyo.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

After reading mixed reviews we didn't expect much, but were more than pleasantly surprised.

The service was exceptional. We never needed to ask for anything. The moment We felt even slightly thirsty, a ninja came to deliver water. They saw I am starting to get a bit full in between meals- the sent the amazing ninja master magician. We felt we were being spoiled' and we loved it!

The food was delicious! Again, we didn't expect much' but ended up licking our fingers. We ordered 2 set meals, the Kunoichi set and the Vegetarian set. Except for perhaps one plate that we didn't like, everything was amazing.

To sum up, Ninja Akasaka is one of the best restaurants We have been to, Both the food and the service were exceptional! The master ninja magician show was a great touch. We did'nt even notice we have been sitting in there for two hours.

Value for money and great fun!

“Surprisingly good food for a theme restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Ninja Akasaka was a great surprise for me. My family and I went to this restaurant in Tokyo prepared to have some fun and luckily reasonable food.

Actually food was great and fun as well. The restaurant is built around the theme of Ninjas and to start with, at the reception, after you give your name for your reservation, the receptionist clap hands a a ninja jumps from some where in the roof to take you to your table. The whole area is a dark labyrinth and the tables are separate from each other in small rooms with sliding doors.

Two of us ordered a fixed menu and the other two a la carte. we were all very pleased with our food. One of our order was a special stone boiled soup that is done in front of you. The food in general is presented in a very attractive way. Among other things I had chicken wings with cashew nuts, which seems to be done with a kind of caramel sauce. delicious! Even desserts can be funny and delicious at the same time, as an ice cream with animal face or for a dessert that looks like a tree.

In the middle of the dinner entered our room a magician that did some amazing tricks just in front of us.

All in all, I would advice this restaurant as a unique experience in Tokyo.

“Great theme but meal is poor value”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013 via mobile

Great entry routine and loved the inside of the restaurant. Overpriced for drinks and food like Y5000 for a bottle of basic wine and Y8000 for mid range steak gives you an idea. Service was poor unfortunately. Really wanted to like this place after reading TA reviews but group agreed not an overall good experience so sorry, I say give it a miss.

“Wonderful 7th Birthday Dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

November 2010. It was our first night in Tokyo and my sons 7th birthday. We couldn't of picked a better place for him. We all loved the atmosphere and the great food(Kobe beef was very good) My son particularly loved the magic tricks performed by the "ninja". He still talks about the restaurant today.
