“Hotel Too Good To Miss”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed today NEW

Staying at the Hotel Chiinzanso was the perfect introduction to our first trip to Tokyo and to Japan. From the very first greeting of the smiling and friendly staff to the final farewell, nothing could be faulted. Our room was spacious, with excellent facilities and had an excellent view of the Hotel Gardens and the City. The Gardens are beautiful. You can take a leisurely stroll through them to either enjoy the surrounds or to reach many of the Hotel Restaurants. We enjoyed delicious meals in three of the Hotel Restaurants. The Hotel is a short walk from the Metro and the centre of Tokyo and its many Tourist attractions can be reached either by Taxi or train. We were able to negotiate the Japaese Train System without too much trouble even after all the frightening stories we had heard. All staff members should be congratulated on their performance, friendliness and work ethic. I have no hesitation in recommending this Beautiful Hotel. It is certainly Five Star for me!!!!!

We stayed here in November for 4 nights, it's an amazing hotel. We were in the newly remodeled room, so luxurious ... they thought of everything. The amenities are first class, i.e., Nespresso coffee maker and L'occitane bath products. We had a wonderful view of the garden, leaves were changing colors ... didn't feel like we were in the middle of Tokyo! At night they have a light show in the garden, we could watch it from our room. Be sure to take time to walk around the garden, so serene. the food was also excellent! i would highly recommend this hotel and can't wait to return, be sure to try their Japanese breakfast!

We stayed at Hotel Chinzanso in April 2014. Being our first time ever in Japan, we were surprised by the breathtaking nature which we saw a lot of in the area around the hotel. Chinzanso is located in a part of Tokyo that is far away from the business and shopping areas, and that is only to its advantage. We loved coming back to the hotel after a day shopping. What we liked about this hotel was first and foremost the garden and the little restaurant in it where we were served a magnificent 7-course dinner with a chef cooking the food in front of us. The kobe-beef was amazing.
One negative thing is that we were charged to use the swimming pool.

Over all we really enjoyed our stay!

We stayed at Chinzanso in October 2014. The property is beautiful being former residence of one of major clan of Japan. The hotel is in the middle of this enormous garden, you must spend time to spend time to stroll around the garden if you decided to stay here. Staff are very helpful and everything are beautiful. It's just the location being not ideal but they have free bus service from Ikebukuro station and a subway station is not very far. I wish I had enough time to try all the restaurants in the garden. I will definitely stay here again.

Dear Nekorin-Sama,

Thank you for your recent stay at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo and also for leaving a valuable comment on TripAdvisor.
We are indeed very lucky having a huge garden and lots of greenery around the hotel and are happy that you really enjoyed it.
The staff is always trying to satisfy our guests more than 100 percent.
The free shuttle bus runs between the hotel and Ikebukuro station and weekends and national holidays, but besides that there are taxis and public busses as well.
The subway station is less than a 10 minute walk and this subway line can bring you quickly to the major business and tourists centers.
]You already mentioned that you will definitely visit us again and we are looking forward to welcoming you again.

With warmest regards,

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo

Stayed at this hotel for two nights last week while in Tokyo on November 11th and 12th. All I can say is Oh my God was this hotel fantastic.

We had a view of the park behind the hotel and on Tuesday night we went to eat at the Ramen restaurant in the park and we got a guided tour of the park from the hotel staff.

Everything about this hotel was immaculate and we will definitely stay again during our nest visit to Tokyo.

It's not to far from Shinjuku and Ikebukuro and only about a 2000 yen taxi ride.

Room Tip: Ask for a park view room

We were so happy to read that you really enjoyed our hotel.
The garden is indeed beautiful and it is our pleasure to provide garden tours for guests.
At the moment the autumn colors are breathtaking.
As you mentioned, Shinjuku and Ikebukuro are relatively close and the Kagurazaka area is another nice neighborhood which you can also reach within 10 minutes by taxi.

Enjoyed every seconds inside the hotel property. Top-notch service and room and amenities. Huge, breathtaking garden scenery. Popular for wedding for rich couples. Among the best hotels I've stayed in throughout my travels around the world.
The only downside is its location. Tokyo is expensive, so is its land. So far the hotel to occupy such large piece of land it's up on the hills away from downtown.

Room Tip: Good if you're looking for a quiet, luxury holiday inside the hotel to pamper yourself

Dear Nicholeng2014-Sama,

Thank you for staying at Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo and for writing a review on TripAdvisor.
We were happy to read that you enjoyed the hotel enormously and appreciate our services.
You even consider our hotel among the best hotels you have stayed in! We are honored to receive such a compliment.
As you mentioned, we are not directly in one of the centers of Tokyo, because the hotel is indeed surrounded by a huge Japanese garden and lots of green.
However, the nearest subway station is less than a ten minute walk and a taxi will bring you for example to Shinjuku, a bustling center during the day and night, in about 10 minutes.
We hope we can welcome you back soon.

With warm regards,

Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo

This kind of hotel would normally be out of my price range and I wouldn't even consider it as an option. However I decided to treat myself at the end of an arduous adventure in Japan and got a decent deal by booking well in advance. For the first few hours I was actually deeply uncomfortable and felt out of place; me arriving all sweaty and dusty with my backpack in their palatial lobby, being fawned over by the faultlessly attentive staff... I thought I had made a horrendous mistake.

However. Once I'd settled down and scrubbed myself up a bit I began to relax, and eventually had a wonderful couple of days in this unique hotel. As is well known, space is like gold dust in Tokyo, so for a hotel to have a 17 acre garden is quite something. I've certainly never had a better view from a city hotel room window. I particularly enjoyed the main bar (although fusspots should note that smoking is permitted in there) and the astonishing garden. I didn't visit any of the twelve restaurants but had a peek at a couple and they looked fabulous. The room I was in was superb, and the bathroom was probably the best I've experienced.

Not my favourite hotel ever because it wasn't really "me", but I can't think of a single negative thing to say about it, so it's five stars and a "highly recommended".

Dear Nicholas H-Sama,

Thank you for your recent stay at Hotel Chinzanso and for writing a review on TripAdvisor.
Let me first say that we welcome all guests, young and old, from abroad or from Japan, with backpack or suitcase, coming by train or by car – it does not matter.
It is our aim to satisfy everybody! Fortunately you started feeling comfortable quickly after your arrival and could enjoy the facilities and garden.
Our garden is indeed astonishing in all seasons.
We do hope you will try to stay with us once more and that one day it will be your favorite place in Tokyo.
