“Inspiring!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

Worth seeing! Unfortunately it's a ruin, but you can see how great it must have been. Great architecture. Did you know that it was the largest palace in Europe? Later beaten by Château de Versailles.

“Beautiful Ruins”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

It's a great place to walk around and let your imagination run free! It's absolutely stunning, even with the damage done to it. It's a lovely place to see. There's a very small fee to see it - less than 10 zl/person.

“Impressive ruins”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2010

When built in the XVII century, the castle was the biggest of its kind in whole Europe. It was dethroned by the palace in Versailles itself. In the glory years it was filled with all sorts of exclusive goods. Sadly, during the Swedish invasion of Poland, the castle was captured by the Swedes, who occupied it, and pillaged the entire complex. Currently the visitor can only sea the ruins of the castle, but can also easily imagine how the whole complex looked like in the past, and how impressive it must have been. It’s worth to ask for a guided tour, because the monument is very big and complex, and it is quite difficult to see everything on your own and understand the functions of particular chambers and structures. To get to Krzyżtopór individual transport will be necessary. The car park is just outside the castle.
