“A monstrosity”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

I absolutely hated this.

From several miles away you could see it rearing its ugly head over a pretty little town. A great big dark building, the wrong colour, the wrong size and the wrong style for the area.

Ghastly.

One of the worst building I have ever seen.

I realise that I am very much in the minority at present among TripAdvisor friends in saying this, but it is awful.

“Arucas Gothic Church”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

Part of a guided mountain tour. The church is very central within Arucas and can't be missed with its tall spires. Free entry. There were a number of coaches in the near car park. You will enjoy viewing the stain glass windows which are beautiful. There has been a lot attention to detail.
You really feel as if you are in a very peaceful environment conducive for prayer or meditation.

There is a sizable square in front leading to shops. Lovely town with many quaint touches. Certainly worth a visit which you can combine with the rum distillery.

“Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

Architecturally exquisite and commanding church.
Church itself was closed the day we went, which was a great shame as we imagined that the stained glass would be stunning.
Pretty little square in front of the church is fabulous for sitting having a coffee and watching the world go by, soaking up the canarian life.
Its worth making the short drive up Montaña de Arucas to have a look over Arucas. Also views of La Isleta and Bay of Las Palmas (only need 5/10 min up here).

“An excellent gothic Church standing out in the crowd”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 27, 2013

The church really stands out in the crowd. The old city is nice, but this gothic church is a cherry on top of this nice town. It's not the key tourist destination on Gran Canaria, which only shows that the best places are not always the most crowded one's :)

A must see detour ride when on the island.

“Nice to visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2013

It's a nice church. It deserves a visit, also because it's located in the center of Arucas.
We've been there for the new year's ceremony and it was nice to see the locals so committed, like Italy 60 years ago...
